The Crusaders not being able to rely on their set piece is so discombobulating.

Well fucking done to the Landers for sending guys up on a bunch of crucial line outs.

And, Millar may be limited, but that was ice fucking cold to kick that to win 🧊

If I were a Crusaders fan, I think I'd rather miss out on the playoffs. I mean this respectfully too, but the Blues/Canes would put 50 on this Crusaders side at home.

But it'd be really really unfair if the blues/canes lost.

How stupid not to take the BP kick at the end. Did not deserve the fluke closing try to get it anyway. But Saders still a chance with that BP I feel.

Nine kids 22 or under in that 23. While they have only won two games, there is what nine All Blacks in the Crusaders. Massive for the young boys

I was thinking watching the game that there were quite a lot of the 2022 NZ U20 squad across both teams.

Highlanders - Fabian Holland, Oliver Haig, Jake Te Hiwi, Cam Millar, Finn Hurley
Crusaders - George Bell, Jamie Hannah, Noah Hotham, Macca Springer

From the Highlanders can add in 2023 U20 player Jack Taylor, as well as JRK, Stoddart (from last year's U20) and Broughton as the youngsters

Still a chance because the Drua dropped their game overnight

I had to say I smiler when I saw Hannah at one stage when Clan were on attack and under goalposts (think just after try scored), he stepped up and gave De Groot a shove, Fabian Holland stepped in front of him like f*** off son (just like it from another youngster playing like a senior player), and until then I didn't realise how much bigger Holland was compared to Hannah.

    @Dan54

I remember seeing both up close at the NZ Schools trials. Hannah was a beanpole while Holland was a giant for that age-group. Huge.

My other memory was Haig sporting a beard for a school rugby match. 🤣

He isn't dominant at the lineout.
    He isn't dominant in carries.
    He's workmanlike around the field.
At this stage, I'd class him as a safe white boy with size who might kick on, nothing more.

At 21 Dan Carter wasn't fantastic off the right foot either.

Both of which made their Super Rugby debut at 21. All.Black's later that year too. Holland debuted two years ago. Albeit for the shit Landers. Not eligible for the All Blacks until next year. Hard comparison. The kid is pretty good.

Ok well we see him different, I saw him winning plenty of ball in lineouts (he usually calling them too), I think he does everything I want a lock to do. Of course he will kick on why I said I can see him becoming a great, not saying he is one now.
Iobviously watch for different things than you, skin colour doesn't even come into any calculation of any player I watch anyway.

Bang on mate,Sam Whitelock and Brodie Rettalick all developed as they got test experience etc too. Sam W when he started wasn't the dominant force he became, I don't recall a lock that was when he forst came on scene.
