It's all hyperbolic bullshit anyway. Damaged the legacy? jog on.
    Lost the Bledisloe? No
    Lost the Rugby Championship? No
Crashed out of the World Cup early? No

"Oh but we lost to Ireland for the first time" they wail. Have Ireland ever been the best team in the world before?
"we lost to France!" well this is the best French team i have ever seen. And we've only played them in France.

Has it all been sunshine and blowjobs? No. Losing to Argentina at home still rankles, despite the fact they gat an annual chance at it now. And there have been some very average games. But really, that is just us reverting to the mean. Even this tarnished legacy regime is winning 7 out of 10 times isn't it?

Not a vintage AB period, but the real old guys here will tell you about times we couldn't win games. Fuck, even i remember 1998.

98 was fucking vintage compared to some of the bumbling, clueless losses under Foster.

No it was not. '98 was fucking horrific. Nothing compares to 1998 in my lifetime.

No it wasn't. It was a team that had to rapidly rebuild and was bloody unlucky not to win 3 of those 5 games. They were effing robbed against SA and would have won both with video refs. I'll fucking take that over a series loss to Ireland at home, loss to SA, loss to Argentina at home and that bloody draw against England.

This is the same legacy that foster has been systematically dismantling since his appointment? There are many reasons none of us trust fosters ABs see the fosters first thread

TBF, there were many on here who wanted Shaun Stevenson parachuted into the starting AB 15 as he had all the skills, experience was over-rated and he was the man for the big occasion. (It's the Fern way of things....)

Well we are yet to see Stevenson at fullback in a test match. One game on the wing when the whole team was changed doesn't answer the question of him as a fullback.

No, we just extrapolate from the glaring issues identified in SR.

The same SR where Frizell, Jordie and Rieko all looked pedestrian

    @voodoo

Give Sami some game time in case Cody or Cole get injured?

Think injuries could be key to winning if we get to the Final.

@Rancid-Schnitzel not forgetting all those years trying to regain the Bledisloe- those were bad times

    Going to this

This will be my first neutral test match live (as in I have no dog in the fight)

Was really hoping we'd be there but alas no

I will be cheering for Argentina though as mentioned earlier - support the team which put you out

What happens if the team the put you out then gets put out? Do you support the team that puts out the team that put you out? Or are you working from a blank slate in that scenario?

Yep Bernie, much more come on the players you got this I think. Foz isn't playing. But understand your point.

    It's time to move on.
If we win this it will be our greatest achievement

As an isolated achievement in and of itself, yes. But I would rank the period from 2010 to 2015 as one great achievement that will never be surpassed. You cannot look at the two RWCs won during that outside of the context of complete and utter domination throughout that period. That's why this team's achievements, and those of the current Boks team if they go back-to-back, just won't compare.

I think undefeated in calendar year 2013 was probably our best achievement, esp given the way it ended with that last gasp try against Ireland

Gotta go with the top team again surely? Understand if Telea swaps in for LF and Whitelock for BBBR. Would love to see Roigard on the bench, and hope DMac gets decent minutes this week.

    Whitelock swap with Retallick.

    Tele'a in. Fainga'anuku out of the 23.

Taukei'aho in. Coles out of the 23.

I’d have preferred to have had Coles and Roigard on the bench. Foster has always had a bit of a thing against Hurricanes players.

No arguments with the rest of the 23.

    Anyway, Go Black!

    Spot on.

Don't mind the change at hooker, if Taukeiaho isn't wanted for the final if we make it, we can trust Coles to be back up to speed without needing to play this week, but not vice versa.

Can't complain about the selection at all given what's gone before.

Plus, the old man gets a rest. Wouldn't be great if him or Taylor went down and we had to dust down Sami for next week when he hasn't played in forever.
