The All Blacks don't win this game if it is an arm-wrestle. It doesn't suit us. We've got to back our expansive gameplan - will it look ugly if it doesn't work? Sure, but trying to beat Ireland at their own game is unlikely to work either.

in a boxing analogy , we are the dangerous boxer with the fast explosive hands with a few more technical flaws ,

And they are the more rounded technically correct fighter,

Yeah trying to outbox them is probably not going to work .

We’re Earnie Shavers, they’re Larry Holmes.

    Lots of chest thumping here.

    I fucking love it!

Ok Foster you Jabba looking, KFC munching cnut, I'll put aside the last 4 years and pledge my unquestioning allegiance to the cause. You don't deserve it, but fark me if I won't offer you my privates if you achieve the impossible.

I think that’s what they’ll pick. Finish the game with Cane subbing on for Papali’i & Barrett at 6

That makes no sense to me. It's like 2019 all over again. Cane doesn't offer much coming on as an impact forward whereas Paps will.

Cane on first to blunt the Irish attack, Paps comes on fresh when the game is hopefully opening up.

Foster: “They've got a group of players … this is probably their moment. If they’re ever going to win a World Cup, they’ll probably feel like it’s now, and as a team we’re kinda in the same mode. So it’s pretty exciting.”

    In the same mode??
So this is the only possible time the ABs can win the RWC or the only possible time in the near future? Or maybe I just don't understand Ian Foster logic.

The issue here is your over-analysing a coach's comment in the media. If we take our Fozzy bashing glasses off for a minute, he's basically saying we are in the mode of winning the World Cup.

Of this squad, most of these players have either never won it or won't be there in 2027, so I don't think that for this team, it is that unreasonable.

The problem is neither Paps or Cane are great from the bench. Both are better starters.

Anyone expecting Paps to start over Cane is absolutely deluded

    Ireland's defence is incredible.

8 points conceded vs Boks. nothing conceded vs Scotland until the contest was over.

I'd have Mo'unga and Beauden practicing drop goals all week.

    Let's George Ford them.

    Keep the scoreboard ticking over.

it's good, but the Bok numbers are misleading, they left heaps of points out there

See, it’s with cliches like this that we are destined to win.

We will only keep the scoreboard ticking over if we play what’s in front of us…

Need to play the full 80 minutes, but also important to score first, as well as just before and after half-time

I'd also have a good think about winning the collisions and being solid at set-piece

Really we just need no more learnings cos we've learnt them already

ABs have had so many "learnings" you'd expect a 30-point victory! I know I harp on but it is the exits from the 22 that are going to be crucial. Last night in the Japan and Argies game, it was on the edge for both teams until a "BB-like shit kick" by Japan led to an Argie try and swung the momentum of the game. I will die a little on the inside when (not if...it is every game these days) this happens in the QF.

The most important position in a Rugby team is Tighthead Prop. The second most important position in a Rugby team is backup Tighthead Prop. Losing Tyrell Lomax for a World Cup knockout would be a massive blow for the All Blacks.

Foster calls BS. Winger and reserve winger are the two seven most important positions
