    Lol Foster you egg.

    Que?

    Roigard

Whilst I agree Roigard needs to be there (ans Weber should have ben in front of Christie too) Roigard doesn't get that space vSouth Africa. They have functioning looseforwards.

What about his 60 metre individual try vs Boks

Fozz says it was only the Boks.... 🙄

Dmac's exit at the 20th minute. What was he thinking? Punted the ball back into the opposition's territory. What about f#%king around in your 22 until someone stuffs up? Change of team tactics?

@His-Bobness I sometimes wonder if some of these, less than brilliant, coaches get fixated on certain statistics and don't have the ability to check those criteria against the larger picture.

Frustrating for me is the fact we have players who aren't being selected, who could do a good job for us given the opportunity of a decent run in the squad. The combinations in our first team are just not right. Does anyone think that JB would be the starter if DH had never got hurt?

@DaGrubster yep, if we score 100 we should have, it was only Namibia, if we score 50 we are shit cos we should have scored 100.

Also tough to try and play to a plan as holes that wouldn't usually exist open so players instincts kick in and take them

I think Fosters Achilles Heel is his loyalty to certain players. Did you see the impact BB had in 2015.

    @KiwiMurph

That is the most annoying thing about fozzie’s tenure.

The rugby watching public will spell out the problems he can’t see, anticipate or fix.

Thats not what you want from an elite coach. He is more a club 2nd team coach level

I think the big goal of this game is points differential just in case Italy beat France.

That was nine years ago, and the years haven't been kind to his game

Who would have thought Roigard was going to be a star…..
If we keep picking Christie over him Foster deserves all the crap he gets.
We need to have LF on the bench too with Dmac.
Not much to say about the forwards. Looking ok.

@His-Bobness I think it is because Foster sees Christie as the closest to Smith in terms of playing style, so ABs can continue to play the same way after the change. Not sure what glasses he is wearing though 😬

Namibia are such a waste of space when it comes to World Cups. They’re always at them and they ALWAYS get fucken hammered. At least others minnows seem to improve a little bit here and there ?

Wank on all you want about ‘experience’ of being in a World Cup but that experience is hiding after hiding dating back to 1999

Am I the only one quite happy with the way things are going? Execution isn't perfect, but that is a proper torrential tropical rainstorm they were playing in for a while. It's slippery as anything & you can't expect every pass to stick. Good points

    1. Backline finding gaps / space with ease - thats what you want in these games
    2. AB's are not going up the jumper despite the weather, still got the confidence to try things out - encouraging
    3. Roigards option taking is excellent, and hopefully will be our number 2 scrummie, if not number 1 by the business time
    4. Forwards dominated early, but then have clearly dropped from giving 100% as there is simply no need to

You're damned either way as the All Blacks in these games, so I'm pretty happy with the way things have gone.

So it seems people have managed to get me wrong, but I'll leave it there.

Second half. In the rain. I don't need the ball flashing out to the wings, just minimise the errors and dominate going forward.

Roigard looks like an aged veteran out there. So calm and mature in his decision making. He’s going to have a long AB career.

Never forget in the Lions tour he told Hansen (while being filmed) playing Rieko Ioane at 11 was and I quote "a dumb idea today".

Rieko scored two tries against the lions a few days later.

    A few things:
Barrett kick for Roigard try – unnecessary, a better defender picks it off. A bad option that looks good against a 2nd tier team. flat track bully stuff.
Savea sloppy off back of TH scrum, pass behind roigard. destroyed the easy overlap try, but scored anyway.
Whitelock 2 early penalties. An all time great, but we need better discipline.
Havili sloppy kick out on full. what the shit.
    Barret slow, mckenzie fast.
Mckenzie noticeably flatter faster passing than mo'unga
Faainganuku good energy. sometimes just giving it snot helps.
Tungafasi lineout in front of jumper. so sloppy, how many lineouts have you been in mate?
Havili dumb off kick off, puts himself into touch - unnecessary turnover in 22
Clark doesn’t look for support. that's a blown chance and against good teams you don't get many.
Our outside backs are often guilty of standing too flat, maybe from expecting too many cross-kicks. Not in a position to receive a pass, except a forward one.
Jacobsen should not be used as a midfield pasing option - he doesn't look at the person he is passing to and it is an error waiting to happen every time.
glaring issues continue. on the positive side: roigard, mckenzie, leicester.

@stodders Agreed. If he is just a pale imitation of Smith, what does he offer? Impact? Variation? Strategic advantage? X-factor? That’s a no!

Opposition is not very good. But Roigard surely has to be the bench 9. Just takes the right options every time.

We don't know how he'll go against top teams and when under pressure, but the signs are he'll do OK. His last two appearances will have done wonders for his confidence.
