Nah I’m sorry but that’s fucked. First and only time I’ve ever seen that call, and it’s in the 79th minute of a Bledisloe. Just absolute horse shit.
Take the win NZ. But it’s hardly a famous victory.
What was the ref supposed to do? Just wait for the hooter for the next minute?
Player has to take responsibility.
Blow time off. That’s what he does, and it’s what every ref has done in that situation.
Or just let Foley kick the ball three seconds later and not make the game about him.
But he made a call I’ve literally never seen before. On the back of an incredibly dubious penalty for sealing off.
Or maybe the refs are being instructed to stop coaching players on the pitch and blow the game based on the players' actions? Oz lost that game at the end, after all the hard work to claw it back. I think deep down, that's the thing that is irking you. Not the ref.

The issues are lack of composure, fading concentration and poor structure on defence. Mentally, they are still not there. We continue to see lousy choices on attack, poor positioning on defence and lapses of discipline at key moments. Again, we see their capacity to momentarily look comfortable and in control and then drop their focus like a ADHD teen skipping his ritalin. And all this against a Wallaby team thrown together at the last minute. Something is wrong.
Just so many players make poor decisions - defence, attacking from 22, passing. We are often beaten physically at breakdown. We have a poor long kicking game.

He blew time off.
He blew time on.
Then your boy cheated just a little too much.

Clarke's positioning on defence is really poor. He drifts in too often.
The way he does it you wonder if it is the plan. It’s way more than a drift. He deliberately cuts in on an angle.
I really do wonder if it is a defense theory being held onto too long. I have seen NPC and FPC sides recently also get their wingers to defend in on the hope of killing the play before the pass -

Nothing dubious about that sealing off penalty. It's standard fare in the last two-three minutes, when the leading team does one-off ruck runs at the supporter just flops directly onto the ground.
You don't want to go back through the whole game discussing refereeing decisions, it's no use and in the end, they usually even out, if only over multiple games.
Foley could have just kicked a wee bit earlier

He had already blown time off.
Foley thought he was being canny, but he took it too far.
Look at Foketi in the background.

He blew time off, warned him, put time on and told him to play. Then he impersonated a statue.
Ref was correct.
The call might seem bizarre and it’s pretty rare these days (I used to see that more in amateur rugby) but it wasn’t as bizarre as White just standing there.

@nostrildamus Big time. Papali'i lacks the same physical edge that Cane has.
Cane's dirty work was sorely missed out there.

Reado says our ruck stats were poor, just really disjointed. That's because we don't try to rumble it up. Too much helter skelter wide stuff again
ABs had pure dominance early on. I think the players went off script because the Wallabies were being over-run. ABs need to stay disciplined and stick to the script. Losing Cane would have affected that, but the remaining leaders did not lead well.

By early on you mean first 5 to 10 minutes? We were dominated most of the rest

LOL Mo'unga "the composure from both teams was awesome". Nether team had anything that remotely resembled composure

Perhaps they’ll start Jacobsen in Bledisloe II
