All Blacks MOTM v Argentina II

I thought Ardie Sami and Rieko were standouts but understand if Cane De Groot etc were picked.
-
Actually hard to pick 3 this week
Went for Savea, Whitelock, Sami T. All three trucked the ball up in close with great effect. Plus all the other stuff - tackles, clean outs, well functioning lineout,
Ioane and Cane very close behind.
De Groot the next best.

Cane
Ioane
SamiBloody hard audience here as far as Cane is concerned. He did exactly what people have been asking for all year. Lead by example in the tackle and was much more assertive in captaincy. Was important in keeping things focused for the game and sticking to the plans. I havenât noticed so many intense talkings to the troops in a long time. Would lecture the forwards then run across and do the same to the backs. Huge performance.
Also, how can anyone not have Sami in their 3? Also did exactly what everyone has been demanding from our forwards and got us moving forward in every one of his carries.
Ioane for being able to add some flash.
Least effective player would have to be Jordan. Is he having a sulk or something?
-
Sami T - dude just looks like a man against boys and I don't get that weird icky feeling in my tummy when he's throwing to the lineout! Could it be ... accuracy!? Also he is fit as anything, massive engine.
Reiko
Cane just pipped Ardie as I felt like I saw some leadership out there alongside some big hits and smart play. -
voted earlier, about to go through the match thread. Cane, Rieko and ST for me. Ardie superb, but Cane played a dominant game. In the context of the pressure he's under, that was massive.
Awesome, dominant, high skill, high cohesion performance. Sensational.

This looks about right to me, but I would've given WJ a 5
Tougher rating system but if 7 is âplayed wellâ but not outstanding and 8 is a great game I am also not sure how Jordan is a 6.
5.5 maybe if I am generous. Thatâs on a rating of âdid nothing wrong but didnât add muchâ -
i went with Cane, Savea and ST
still not sure if one world class performance from our skipper every 5-6 games is worth it but cant argue he stepped up this time
-
Did Cane but in a MOTM game if we don't consider the pressure he was under? Not sure about that, but he was bloody good. Would like to see more of that linking and running game again too.
-
@nostrildamus i think he did, for every run savea made cane was putting in a big hit

Yeah but that's the thing, we've just been asking for him to do his job, which he did. I don't think because he finally did it, after being sub par the rest of the year, automatically elevates him to MOTM status, especially when so many others stepped up.
It was heartening to see him talking to his team and the ref and looking inspired, but that's his bloody job! He should be doing that every match.
