bank this in case it turns out to be bang on

@pakman helps having probably the most innovative coach NZ has ever enjoyed. Shame they didn't include footage of the 67 UK Tour that would really have emphasised your point.
Crowds, sitting on the touchline, cotton jerseys, muddy fields toe kicking. Ahh real footy

@mariner4life A random dude in ChCh might know because the Crusaders (and the Blues) would have to be looking for new coaches.
But, yeah - if Fozzie is a dead man they should have buried him and Joe be taking the team to SA.
I think it has been made really clear that Joe does not want that job.
It's quite funny that people keep demanding certain people in certain roles even when it is clear that they don't want those jobs at this moment.
What someone says publicly doesn’t always translate to what might be happening behind the scenes or what eventuates. I’m not saying that I know that is the case here, but often what is said publicly is laden with agendas and caveats.
Yeah - in a way that COULD add up in the equation.
NZR wants Fozzie gone. Joe doesn't really want the job. Razor wants the job but has a knee replacement scheduled.
Joe agrees to take the role as a caretaker - but, if he's going to do it, he's going to do it right and wants a month of planning time. Leon also has loose ends to tie up and doesn't have a box of international analysis under his bed.
Fozzie's a team player so he's carrying on in the meantime.
A brilliant theory about to be assaulted by a brutal set of facts.

The Random Dude does talk to a certain person in this equation.
then we call that sauce around here, lets see if its a home brand or some gourmet shit
Last bottle of sauce I bought was a very good brand but still turned out to leave a sour taste.
Makes me wonder if the sauce makers are taking us for a ride.Last sauce I had a couple of months ago tasted fine a certain HB was signed by the crusaders.
But this one is someone else’s so who knows.
HB sauce!

Someone needs to drive up to Darren Shand's place and see whether he's got a sign on the front of his house!

Hansen not happy, you can put some of this on him, we stagnated from late in his time at the helm to now, plus he endorsed Fozzie so this tarnishes his rep too.
yeah fuck off Steve. Your overall point isn't wrong, but your angle on it absolutely is.
Steve trying to keep the heat off his mate and his own decision to back him publicly and loudly. As for him comparing the captaincies of McCaw and Cane - total bullshit. Cane is arguably on the decline whereas McCaw in 2007 wasn't.
-
it is a big slapdown of NZR, don't blame coaches or players or the CEO, but, everybody else esp High Performance people?
Gotta say on that it seems like he could be right (a lot of marketing people and bean counters, esp on board, and not quite smooth handling of the All Yanks shares).
But when does the coach become responsible? Not like we are missing key players all the way down to 20 year olds, or maybe we are! -

Makes me wonder if the sauce makers are taking us for a ride.I imagine it has been - and probably still is - a pretty fluid situation with lots of potential outcomes depending upon who does and says what and at what time. All that is to say that maybe the sauce was not bad per se, but prone was to go off quickly if not stored properly.

How dare someone leave people open to criticism in public eh Steve? Best you criticise them in public for that.
Your closed doors is how we got Foster in the first place. The hiring process was abysmal, ruled out all the good options deliberately so your mate could get the job. And the organisation, having previously wheeled out bullshit like 'coaches must have international experience' when it suited, then pick a guy without any head coach success in NZ, let alone inernationally.
Zero integrity. -

Zero integrity.Yeah, it's ridiculous for Hansen say Foster's a good coach and call out some of the online abuse when everyone knows Foster's rubbish and deserves everything he gets, isn't it? Hansen's obviously clueless and it's not as if he's had any decent experience or success at international level so he's best ignored.
And as for Mo'unga praising Foster, what would he know about coaching quality? Has he ever been coached by anyone decent?
An alternate view is these guys might actually have more insight into the current problems than most other people - including rugby hacks - and the current problems in NZ Rugby might run a wee bit deeper than the coaching skills of one bloke. Bit bloody inconvenient, if that is the case, eh?

There are deeper problems, but getting rid of Foster is important. Both can be true.
