the absolute best thing about us not being walk up morals for every single game any more is it has brought back the shitfights. And we are getting some very serious provincial battle lines drawn up
This place is way more fun when we lose a few, and we have across the board a bunch of guys who are all about the same level, and all have flaws that can be highlighted and exaggerated
The Jordie v DMac battle got settled so I can relax a bit more now. Will still take the odd snipe at Mo'unga when I get the chance though.

that's the best one. BB and Mo'unga are the same player with the same strengths and weaknesses, but the guys in each camp will back them to the hilt as the superior player

@kirwan You have an excellent ability to misread posts and/or twist words. I've got to give that to you. Well done!
I think you are stuck in a hypocrisy loop again.
People are allowed to disagree with people's opinions - even yours!
I disagree that Sotutu had a quiet season, he certainly did enough to make the All Blacks for example. Now in case you get confused again, that's my opinion.
Sotutu hasn't had a quiet season. Was outstanding in Super Rugby, got leap-frogged by Jacobson/Blackadder but it's a highly competitive loose combo. His appearances since have been v.good.

Can we talk about Sotutu's AB form this year as well? He can still make mistakes but overall I thought he has played ok? (I admit I have not seen one game, and not sure I can bear to).
He is still young and I like the way he uses his long arms to disrupt the maul and some of his passing is very sweet for a loose forward. But he can also struggle to impose himself when the going gets hard (perhaps this is just an AB forward characteristic, sigh...) I still think he could be a longterm AB 8 and so could Jacobson (although I did like seeing LJ at 6). -

Mo'unga will inevitably win that battle, though - not because he's the better player, but just because BB is older and has lost and will continue to lose the good parts of his game that glossed over the flaws in his game (the same flaws that Mo'unga has)

Outstanding in lineout, off back of scrum and probably best passer. Ought to be excellent in combo with big hitting 6. Paps/Aioane/Hoskins has good balance.

All three being ... wait for it .... from a particular province.
That's not "good balance". Unless you live in Auckland.

Looks better than Princep/Kirifi/Savea though and I say that as a proud native of the nations capital.

@booboo eh?
Why can a loose forward trio from one union not be balanced?

lots of records will be set this year by the 2021 ABs:
Their 89 tries scored to date are only three behind the world record of 92 tries scored by Argentina in 2003. Should the All Blacks score another 12 tries on the tour, their 101 tries would break the world record average tries per Test set by the World Cup-winning 1987 All Blacks of 6.71 tries per game. If they score another 31 points on the tour they will break the record for most points in a calendar year. That is 658, set by South Africa in 2007 when they played 17 Tests en route to their Rugby World Cup win. Should they convert three more tries in 2021 they will break the world record for most Test conversions in a calendar year. That stands at 62 by South Africa in 2007.
