Lockdown/Covid Check In

@dogmeat How dare you!
I think that just being allowed out at all might be the key to it. Rain, hail or shine.Besides they're British, they'll talk about the weather, complain about the weather, then go out in the weather (now that they are allowed to).
Piss taking aside, my Father in law needs to get out since my MiL died 4 months ago. I think he is losing it. It has been close to solitary confinement.

That's tough for the old bugger. One of the uncounted costs of lockdown.

@bones sorry, whats that about, paywalled
Ahh didn't realise. Don't bother bro, rich fluffybunnies telling us how hard their life is and that they're on the verge of tears when doing their high paying TV show where they sit and talk to people.

There ya go.
Phillip Schofield has revealed that he and Holly Willoughby are âon the brink of tearsâ all the time when presenting This Morning. The co-presenters opened up about how the pandemic has left them âon the edgeâ emotionally and that they have to be âcarefulâ not to cry during an episode, specifically during the daily Spin to Win competition. Schofield told The Sunday Mirror: âWhen a Spin to Win winner says, âOh my God, youâve been amazingâ, âIâve entered since the startâ, that kind of thing â youâve got to be quite careful because I think weâre all on the edge, you could cry at the drop of a hat.â He continued: âItâs so hard sometimes and you think, âYou have to centre yourself.â We are all on the brink of tears all the time so it doesnât take much of a push.â Willoughby said that they were delighted to hear viewers call the ITV breakfast programme a âcomfort blanketâ during the pandemic. Schofield added that âthe viewers were our comfort blanket tooâ. Speaking about the lockdown restrictions, the Dancing on Ice presenter said: âI think itâs those small things, those small liberties that you take for granted that you never thought anybody would take away from you ever.â This Morning airs every weekday at 10am on ITV.
Talk about disconnected from the real world.

@victor-meldrew I feel like that could have been stolen straight out of a Grinder episode.
-
@victor-meldrew Wow guys, I read this differently to the rest of you, didn't trigger me at all, but then I'm fond of Phil and Holly... They aren't claiming they are upset with their lot, think it's more of a show of compassion.
We are all human guys... đ
Edit, also think this is such a non-story. Nothing better to write about.
Edit edit. But I support your choice to post it @Bones
-
@r-l I really feel for them eh, having to be careful and struggling back those tears while being chauffeured home to eat their chef cooked lunch. Must be tough.
-
@bones you actually believe any of that has been used in context? I don't at all. It was probably from during the first lock down when everyone, pretty much everyone, would have been on the verge of tears most days. It's being used now for the sake of a story, for reactions just like yours...
-
@r-l you're welcome

Well us Wellington folks are getting a wee shake with the latest covid case. Have already heard from some of my team who are a bit anxious, and my MIL was also pretty nervous about what might happen. Hopefully people pull finger and get back to scanning.

Never coming home again anyway.

We got too fucking complacent. I'm enjoying the opportunity to expand my personal space though to what I consider comfort levels.

3 kms works for me. I tried to enforce it as "social distancing" but apparently it was a bit much. I have a couple of people allowed inside that, the rest of you can fuck off and stay on the internet. That's close enough.

3kms is my upper limit for calling in airstrikes. Although a hellfire can usually be deployed on the paint at 4+ Kms but it's hard to actually confirm ID of the target once it hits.
