SRA Round 10: Highlanders v Hurricanes

@kiwiwomble Clips from that account are geo-blocked in NZ.
-
@stargazer apologies, thought that was just the SRA site, also didn’t think highlights were geo blocked
-
@kiwiwomble Clips from the SANZAAR account weren't geo-blocked in previous years. IIRC, they started doing that post-Covid and only for SRA, not SR AU. I assume it has to do with broadcasting rights, although I always find it ridiculous that they are being so difficult about a highlights clip.

Oh this news is fantastic, can't wait to see him light it up more.

Coles has a point. There should never have been cards involved in this.
Also if palming someone in the face is a yellow card offence now then the Crusaders player that did the same thing a couple of weeks ago should count his lucky stars that the refs are horribly inconsistent in their officiating this year.
-
@canes4life Elbow to the face followed by open hand shoves in the face seems like yellow cards to me. What pisses me off is Coles acting like a football player whinging to the ref after Hunt shoved back.
-
@yeetyaah a couple of years ago that would have been a lecture but nothing more. Game has gone soft, just like society in general.
It’s also funny that some teams seem to get away for doing exactly the same shit. I.e Joe Moody
-
@yeetyaah Yep, Coles pushing Hunt's head into the turf with his elbow was plain dirty*. In some countries you get red for that. And Hunt retaliated. Coles has always had a temper; he won't change his stripes at the end of his career.
Edited to add: Very similar to Laumape's arm to Scott Barrett throat. Also a yellow. So it's consistent.

O'Keeffe did the right thing in giving the YCs. Coles, at least, needed to clam down and sitting in the naughty chair for 10 mins was the best way to do that.
Yeah definitely agree - ref needed to put a stop to it in the hopes of stamping it out for the rest of the match.
One thing I do really hate and always have is the bullshit retaliation is worse than the original offence.
-
Just watched reply. Scrappy but very entertaining. Some actual positive signs for the Canes there. Maybe next year won’t be a total Hammett.
Farking hilarious with the Smith captains referral being reversed and then Coles scoring. Hate those bloody things anyway.
-
The whole problem with these captain's referrals is that they have to be made within 10 seconds. So if a captain hasn't seen an incident himself or it happened at some distance from the captain, he has to trust a team mate's assessment of what the infringement was and who was/were involved. I think that's why most of the captain's referrals seem to have been incidents that involved captains and why sometimes the referrals were too late.

Coles my favourite AB against my team the Clan. They'll have a laugh, a beer in the sheds, and the fans will talk about things on forums that don't matter.

Ref should apologise to Colesy.

I don't care when Coles decides to play a little niggly with a grin on his face. You know what they say, he's an annoying prick at times, but he's our annoying prick!
