Good point.
But it's a pretty new squad with a lot of retirements and we don't know how much say he had in team-building under Shag - particularly with the focus on RWC2019.
He got brownie points for the right selection for Bleds 2 & 3 so the jury is out for me
I don't see how that addresses and excuses wholesale changes? No problem with tinkering.
nah, I'm not going to slam him for changes. The schedule is a bit tough too - 2 weeks playing at home, a week off, three weeks in a row, a week off, and then the final game.
Playing five tests in six weekends is gruelling - you have to change sometime.
Right... and that's a reason to have someone different in every backline position than the previous week? The whole fucken backline! Including 8!
Isn't the 8 a 12?
nah, that's the 15
Joking aside, though, I'd take Jordie over Ngani in Tests at 12 on curretn form

Quick thought about Ngani.
That was his first game back after about 6 months wasn't it?
Big ask.
-
@Victor-Meldrew what did he call it? Like a Chiefs team of yore, just less polished?

Technically no. He got some time off the bench last week.

He looked very off colour. Definitely a better player than what we saw last night.

It would be nice to see him involved in a test match that wasn't a complete clusterfuck. I would expect that someone with such a big chip on his shoulder would make sure that what few opportunities he gets are taken and taken well. Thus far, he seems to have been a bit overawed by his major test match experiences.

they will see what he has got in training. We just don't see what happens behind the scenes - who's got the strength, reflexes, conditioning and aggression. Test matches can make good players look average (it happened to Nonu, amongst a long list).
I really hope he'll be back, has so much upside to his game

@booboo it was, but I guess you'd expect better too...that said, with the service from inside...
Yep, an eight that is a seven (he did go O.K. though), a nine that was a pile of steaming shit (should have been dragged) and a ten that hasn't played there recently.
He has barely played and then put on the end of that chain?
I think that it fair to say that selections, positions, coaching had some impact on his performance (but I don't think that he should start either).

Really? TJP ended up helping Aust more than NZ.
Foster also defended the use of his bench and the decision to wait until relatively late in the piece to replace halfback TJ Perenara with Brad Weber. “The subs was a tough one in this test, because it was becoming a very physical, defensive game, particularly in the second half, and that’s TJ's strength," Foster said.

Yeah.
You try to win.Not try to not lose.
-
That previous post wasn't very clear but Foster's thinking isn't either.
Trying to just cram players onto the field in whatever position, trying to keep players on when they have been shit, and they have played most of the match and expect them to be great defenders?
We needed a quick halfback to take the offensive. Not a tired one that can defend.

Rugby Pass getting their licks in
Seems 100% correct IMO

I'm not getting to throw him under the bus just yet. Lets give him time to grow into the role. Yeah, too many changes for this game (then not enough during it), but I'm going to give him 12 months.
Also, any analysis that claims his primary success has been JB at 14 seems a touch flawed to me.

I remember Hansen and Henry coaching similarly rubbish performances v Wallabies in Brisbane.
Jury is out on Foster but he isn't alone in a bad Brisbane performance.
And Grizz and Hart as well. Yeah I'll give him a pass on this one. But not TJP. That was really really shit.

I don’t have much confidence we will progress under Foster
As always I will support the AB’s and wouldn’t mind being proved wrong if we win the next WC,and keep improving until the WC under Foster.
As I hate us losing any test match. -
Foster is a RWC SF level coach? Sounds optimistic to me!
Rennie just beat Foster's All Blacks with a team he found at Petrie Terrace!
