Foster expects Beauden Barrett to return from his minor Achilles complaint that forced him to withdraw two days before the opening Bledisloe but would not yet confirm whether he would slot straight into the fullback role for Damian McKenzie.
The only other concern for the All Blacks is the imminent arrival of Ardie Savea's second child. Savea relocated to Auckland with the squad on Monday but naturally wants to be present for the birth.
Blues fans be like, young bubs time to arrive in this world 😀
A couple of outs there for Foster if he wants to change things up.

Biggest question for me is can we produce an aggressive defence effort to counter the Australians? We made double their tackles but produced less turnovers, indicating that we were well off the mark in defensive structure, and not up to it physically.
I have a lot of doubts about Scott MacLeod and the loose forwards.
Agree Tim. Watched the game again and our line speed was non existent at times. We just waited for the Aussie forwards to run at us instead of rushing up and belting them like they did so well to us. Not one journo has raised this so far to Foster and co, no wonder the coaching staff get away with poor performances. McLeod has to go imo.
-
Fozzie just doesn't come across as very charismatic, somebody the players really respect and want to perform for. Rennie has it, Robertson has it, Erasmus has it and Ted Lasso has it in spades.
I would love to know what the players really think of Fozzie, are they 100% with him or do some of the more experienced players think 'Why did they pick this dipshit?'

I wouldn’t be relying on any of these journos to ask questions that require them to have watched the game with any sort of analytical eye.

.....are you implying Hansen did ?
Henry had some really droll wit, loads of people say that Hansen did but I found this pretty intermittent.
I don't think a Rugby coach needs to be an elite athlete as such but losing a few kgs would go a long way to gaining respect in my eyes.
A fat fluffybunny telling you to "work on your fitness" doesn't quite have the same impact.

Yeah I've wondered how this kind of hypocrisy goes down. Eddie Jones apparently had a habit of calling players "fat cnut". And that was when he himself looked like a condom stuffed with walnuts.

this is how Clive James described Arnie.

A bit like a polish chick with a keyboard telling you how to play?

@MN5 I believed in Hansen, he had the wit because he believed in his abilities and I bet the players did too. Henry was very similar; they came across as intelligent and knowing exactly what was going on. Fozzie just doesn't give me that feeling, maybe it's just me but I just don't believe in the man.

And he doesn't really have the runs on the board. Henry of course had massive success before getting the job and Hanson had at least been a head coach at the highest level. Foster didn't exactly smash it as Chiefs coach and he's been an assistant ever since. And AB back play hasn't exactly been amazing with him in charge.

@MN5 nice to see you’ve made it 97, just 23 more years to go 😎

It's a great time. So good knowing I'll get to hear some Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots release some tunes with their original singers.

Well I forked out half my life savings to get the family along to this when tickets went on sale. Can't wait. The 7 year old is already talking smack to the wife (Wallabies supporter) as only a 7 year old can "the All Blacks are going to smash the poopoobies!!"
-
My team would be:
Moody
Coles
Ofa
Pat T
Whitelock
Akira
Cane
Sotutu
Smith
Beauden
Clarke
ALB
Goodhue
Jordan
JordieTJP, Rieko and RM covering the backs. All three can provide spark against tired legs. Ardie can do the same in the loose after the big blokes have worn them down.
Looking for Pat T, Akira and Sotutu to do what they did for the Blues and play really aggressive rugby on both attack and defense. That paired with Cane should give us plenty of mongrel up front.
Then last 20 we speed up the game with 2x playmakers and bring in Rieko at centre to wreck some havoc.

Stormey is in my top five players ever
Wait, what? That you got away with this for 30 posts is almost as astounding.
Come on. He threw a great pass to Cullen for a try back in 96.......all he had to do was beat 7 Scots defenders, but that try was ALL Stormy.
