Lockdown/Covid Check In

@taniwharugby Was thinking this - "Awful analysis, incorrect conclusions, zero insight
Wrong about pretty much everything"but either works.

I'd say in some ways it is easier to vent on here, knowing for most of us you will never see in RL, so no biggie if you feel like a chump for it.
I bet in that parenting thread there is plenty of bits that just came out that people probably never speak about with anyone other than their partner (maybe not even them...) yet are happy to discuss with what is largely a bunch of strangers.
Twitter is RL isnt it?

Like @mariner4life failed sexcapades. Think most of us are still traumatised by that.

@Nepia @SynicBast Without wishing to boast about my cat being blacker, I have been best man 5 times. 2 currently successful marriages but three failures 2 of which were entirely predictable at the time so I don’t consider myself the Jonah.
-
@Catogrande I did note the invitations for best man stopped after the fourth time, but that may have been because someone didn't see the funny side of the business cards.
-
@ACT-Crusader It could be worse, you could have been engaged to me...that's been a literal fatal mistake three times - henece why I've been quite happy to remain single for the last 20 years

@R-L Don't feel silly. This place is mostly useless fun. But it's a superb place to come.for support. Especially given the wide array of experiences to call on.
Exactly.
I remember the time I was really struggling to know if I would be able to afford a good school for my kids because I wasn’t a Wellingtonian on six figures. Came on the fern and realised most weren’t and all has been well.
Or the time when my stockbroker called me with some perplexing investment options and because of the fern I was able to tell him that peak oil was right around the corner, so he best get on to it. I will retire comfortably.
And the clarity of mind I got when I discovered right here that 6’4 props are really number 8’s.

What do you mean by failed?
It's like you think I didn't usher him out the door and then go back and finish
Total. Shitshow.
Made funnier when I realised Mrs mariner had no recollection of said incident until I reminded her a couple of days back.

Amen. Asked for some advice on a dodgy ankle and the advice turned out to be spot on.

Surprised that nobody has mentioned this - maybe they were all too scared to comment. I'm really hoping that you use "literal" like young people who don't actually know what it means? Otherwise that is bloody awful, and seriously shitty luck. Wow.

I said exactly what I meant to say. It's been a long journey out of the tunnel and it's still very much in progress. I'd say I'm cursed but that's putting a smiley face bandaid over the scars. The good thing is I have my three daughters, their mother and my best friend of an ex who keep me in the light for the most part. I just have to watch my environment which is why I don't tend to go out to pubs or public venues - my worldview is pretty dark at the best of times.

Three dead fiances is seriously tough. No wonder you are struggling mate. Great that you have the kids - lean on them, my dad does on me and it is kind of mutual benefit. Kia Kaha.
