Steve Hansen inherited Graham Henry's once in a generation team. He did nothing with it.

We've been poor for the past three years.

Flat track bullies who were owned by Ireland and England.

Like John Mitchell in 2003 he was out of ideas so he went with the hot Super Rugby team. And he selected a lot of duds. Bridge, Scott Barrett, Reece, Mounga. Discarded experience and selected mediocrity. Also like Mitchell he's an arrogant tool who likes to criticize players in public. I hope Ioane and Luatua are having some bitter laughs.

Agree. Limited coach who only won game because of the quality of NZ players.

But his decision to stack the team with a number of very limited Crusaders players (including Barrett who is not a 6) was really his main downfall

Please to see the back of him. I hope everyone involved with this team is given the boot. Hopefully they bring in Jamie Joseph as head coach.

This., utter rubbish. England played a blinder. We played like we'd spent ourselves Vs Ireland. Like last semi,, except we had carter too save us with grit. Our current players aren't gritty but they are amazing

    A garbage post. Fucking garbage.

But time for a full coaching clean out now. Bring in Razor and give him full reign to choose his staff. McLeod may survive but I doubt Razor will want the baggage.

It will be interesting to see how Hansen's tenure is rated in time. He has been the coach for a lot of firsts for the ABs, some of those not good (e.g. loses to Ireland).

I think it’s time to step away from Crusader country.

Perhaps too soon for post mortems and obituaries. But here goes.

Hansen's strengths were his organisation and his ability to stay cool and come across as an ordinary Kiwi bloke under fire. He has a good heart and good values.

The weakness was his coaching. I don't think he did much to turn his players into better performing athletes. His side was never really the same after Wayne Smith left. In the end, his selection was found out too.

@shark I am 1000% correct and have been proven so by the continual losses against physical teams.

Hansen's arrogance went through the roof after he won in 2015.

Oh and by the way, this post 2015 team just isn't a patch on the previous side stacked with all-time greats. No-one could have done any better with the cattle available. Losing convincingly to a very good England side shouldn't be a major surprise to anyone given the patchy form shown throughout the 2016-19 era and the lesser standard of players available in general.

It would funny how predictable it was if it wasn’t a bloody semi final.

I got swept up by the Ireland performance, but smashing a team that lost to Japan means nothing in hindsight

As his assistants got weaker (with Smith moving on) he seemingly delegated more. Tough to keep a high performance environment when most player probably rate their super coaches higher than Foz & co.
