Why Hika Elliot isn't in the All Blacks Squad
-

Just had to say somewhere, there are rumours around that the All Blacks have a 'no dickheads' policy, and that some players who may have the ability to be in the squad get cast aside due to their attitude. We have all seen Hika Elliot do the damage at ITM cup and Super rugby level the last few years and it has been a head scratcher that guys like Nathan Harris, James Parsons and recently Codie Taylor have leapfrogged in over him, also, curiously, no ITM cup team was willing to touch him. Tonight i have witnessed why this is personally.

There was an incident in town where someone tapped the top of Hika Elliots bottle of beer causing it to overflow and spray everywhere, it was spilling over him so he moved the bottle off him over to the guy next to him. That guy then in a joking manner responded saying 'piss off with your beer mate you're getting it all over me' and pushed the bottle away, Hika then moved the bottle back over the bloke and said 'fuck off c'nt its not my fault'. A bit of a tug of war resulted and things got heated, it lead to Hika threatening the guy, who had really done nothing except sit next to Hika. The blokes girlfriend stepped in and said Hika had started this by taking his beer and moving it so it sprayed all over the guy next to him, Hika replied by saying that the woman was a piece of shit and that she could get fucked too. A bit of a disagreement obviously unfolded and some of the cooler heads from the Taranaki squad got Hika out of there before anything more serious kicked off.

As a fan of Hika Elliot the player, it was just such a disappointing scene to witness. Hika displayed the whole package of an entitled, arrogant person who was grievously offended by anyone calling him out on his bullshit behavior. Anyone with that attitude can not last long as an All Black and if you're wondering why he isn't there, the no dickheads policy is why.
-

if you're holding an open bottle of beer and someone else bangs lightly on the top with their bottle, your beer will froth up and overflow vigourously.

It's either very annoying or mildly amusing depending upon who is holding the first bottle.
-
Or maybe he's just not good enough? Why bother coming on here (hidden behind a username) to character assisinate a fellow Kiwi? If he had the right of reply, fine, but it's your word in a pub where you'd probably drunk a few yourself versus no possiblity for Hika to give his version of the story. I'd rather the thread stuck to facts than gossip myself, but maybe my views aren't shared by others.

well its been a mystery for a lot of us on here. some people cant handle booze at all and I would trust a tsf report over anything else. I wouldnt call it assasination if he's actually seen it. We've all seen bloke like that, hell I've been on the receiving end and have no time for it at all. I'm also naki based so will keep an eye out for it myself.

I hate people banging my beer, first its sacrilege, 2nd its sacrilege, 3rd its very annoying. Ok if friends, but we don't do that anymore. Why would you do that to an Ab in a pub, best Hika chooses better establishments.

Are you sure he wasn't the guy who tapped his beer? I mean it would seem weird for someone with such a short fuse to totally ignore the fella who christened his beer but totally chastise this guy after a brief discussion.

I've only ever seen this done between mates.

That said the whole aftermath sums up to basically what we have heard about Hika - not a horrible fella just not AB material off the field.
-

Yep, Dane Coles punched a cop while drunk and he's in the abs. Maybe Hika just isn't good enough to make the team?
-

Well Jegga, if the cop was drunk whilst on duty he probably needed punching. Good on Coles IMO.

You should see me dance.

Or maybe not.
-

Well, I've seen him play, and observed the dearth of a genuine 3rd number 2 since Hore left, and have, as I'm sure lots have, pondered that he's the most logical rake to try out for number 3 AB hooker

What other reason for the principled character that is Hansen to ignore (he made the training squad and never stripped this year, fuck even Moala played a game) this very decent rugby player (capped All Black)?

We all love happy stories about ferners encounters with stardom. No need to diss the OP just because it's unpalatable

Fact is, a modern All Black never publicly calls a woman a piece of shit. That's just the way it is
