@booboo there are some good women commentators here for cricket as well. If they can get a job. Channel nine doesn't want em

Tough game in atrocious conditions. Scoreline very misleading.

It was a tight game, and the bounce of the ball went England's way. That happens. They're at home in conditions they are better suited to.

I was surprised with how well our forwards muscled up, and to have a shot at winning with 10 to go, despite playing with 13 at one point... you can't be too unhappy.

The refereeing was OK, but I can't help thinking he bottled a few big calls. Hooper was offside from the kick, but did it really impact the play? It looked to me like Korobiete made contact as he tried to chip it through, which would have put him onside. Was that looked at? No.

    The Moore obstruction call was a fair one, but Robshaw was way offside to begin with;

Ultimately England were the better side and deserved the victory. But it was clearly much closer than the scoreline suggested.

"@mick-gold-coast-qld I think you probably lost anyone as soon as you said "Melodie".

Nah, I've watched her for some years in the NPC / ITM / Craven A Filters Cup and she has demonstrated that she studies the game, understands it well enough and treats the blokes who bring it to us with due respect. I reckon she succeeds on her merits.

She is way ahead of the weather girlie blondes the League and the AFL shove under our noses to satisfy the manic determination to convince the masses of the vital true truth that wymminses and men are precisely the same and that to suggest otherwise is raaacist.

I've never asked - is she not well regarded in NZ rugby?

Melodie Robinson was a reasonably good flanker in her days and played for the Black Ferns.

@stargazer He was having a chat with someone who had a Wallabies track suit and someone who looked like a match official(not the ref) right after half time whistle, before heading to the sheds.

EDIT: seemed like a heated chat too

No idea if he approached someone in the sheds

Yes sport played by men, as opposed to when they are played by women.

    For example: Men's rugby v Women's rugby

Wasn't it a "probation " of sorts? For a certain period of time rather than forever?

Papers reports are that he approached the ref but can't always believe what they write

Didn't see game but saw interview. The woman interviewing him did absolutely everything to wind him up. I know Cheika brings most of this on himself, but that was absolutely pathetic.

What fucks me off most is that those piston wristed gibbons in the press that demand perfection, manners, morals etc from the players and coaches don't even try to abide by those high standards themselves. Total scum.

I'm not fan of Cheika, but that was pathetic of the interviewer. I think he handled it well when he would have been within his rights to tell her to fuck off.

That was a crazy decision, Hooper slows down which is usually enough to suggest you aren't participating, and then Koroibete runs past him, which, by the laws is enough to put him back onside, doesn't matter if Koro touched the ball in the end.

These big calls going against you, suggest that you are creating opportunities, you just gotta god damn take even some of them. With better execution the game would have been 6-20-odd going to that last ten minutes.

Not that the referee team would relook at it. Been incredibly one sided refereeing in England's favour

I did relook at it. Not clearly offside at all, though it should have got another look at the time.

I thought the ref was perfectly fair myself. I would have ruled as he did for all the touchy ones. Beale hit the ball down at full stretch. Moore definitely obstructed a tackle that was almost held up despite him being in the way.

Went back again. Youngs starts more or less in line, but the kicker's movement forward means he doesn't start running until well behind the offside line.

I've just watched a replay. As others have said it was a strange game as the scoreline wasn't a true reflection of the test.

I still believe the ball did touch the chalk in the leadup to Daly's try but the TMO thought otherwise. Beale only has himself to blame by not showing enough urgency. Same for the dumb shit from Moore.

I don't believe Hooper did stop so no problems there. Koroibete didn't appear to touch the ball so it was a try gone begging.

Now for the fun stuff, the Cheika presser.

Funny how some are devaluing that English victory. It looked a fair tussle in the forwards but not in the backs. And England knew when to attack. Played with more strategic ability. I still feel the Aussie midfield are drytrack bullies. And Foley is not really in control, the big winger is ok though. Hodge? He has played 10 out hasn't he?

Sounds to me like the big bopper midfield failed, as many predicted. That drop by Kuridrani after Kerevi carved off huge metres is fucking unforgiveable - but then, so is a flick pass from Kerevi when a simple, two handed pop would do.

Doubt whether I'll watch it, besides the post match "interview" I've seen where the interviewer tries to dig a reaction out of Cheika.

Sure, he's being a pill in the coaches box. But isn't the interview supposed to be about the game? Hit him up about the coaches box in the presser
