Match: Lions v Hurricanes @ Emirates Airlines Park, Johannesburg
Date: Saturday 29 July 2017
Kick-Off: 14:30 local
Referee: Jaco Peyper
AR1: Marius van der Westhuizen
AR2: Rasta Rasivhenge
TMO: Marius JonkerThat's terrible. The first AR tried to whistle the Sharks out of their quarter final.
The second one was a truly terrible 7s referee. The idea that clown is being groomed to take care of real rugby terrifies me.
The third one is a known cheat and shit TMO.

Sorry @Wreck-Diver as I have to agree with @Bones and @Rancid-Schnitzel
If available, I would have Proctor at 13 and move Aso back to the wing with Ardie on the other. Aso's defense at Centre is a bit sus as he tends to shoot up and miss tackles.
Ardie? Surely he starts at 12? Jules maybe on the wing ...
Ah yeah... For the semi-finals why not go with something out of left field that the other teams won't be expecting... Ardie with his speed (and height) for the wing and put Jules on the side of the scrum as he's the bigger sibling.
Thanks for pointing out my mistake @booboo and I shall fix forth with.
Cheers

Yeah he was looking at short but lucrative overseas gigs as their son has a serious medical condition. Great that we'll see him (and his whanau) stay in NZ. I agree with the comments about his rugby nous, when you hear him talk about the game in detail it's like listening to a different person!
The Piri effect.
-
Also the Cullen effect.. or kind of. I've been impressed with how Cully has grown into his presenting and commentating work
He was a pretty quiet guy, and having guys like Rush taking pot shots at your intellect (beer bottle!) doesn't help. Although I'm almost certain Rush admitted he was talking about Osborne aye?
Or we could call it the anti-Marshall effect! A guy you KNOW knows a lot about the game... not that you'd think so listening to him!

The problem with Marshall is he thinks he knows a lot about the laws of the game. But he doesn't.

@Paekakboyz obviously you have some bias there for the Paekak Express, but I agree Cullen has been good value. Outrageously humble given his God-like feats on the paddock, and doesn't wank on about nothing like some of the others that just absolutely love the sound of their own voices. He's provided some good insights into the backline play, say what you want about his intellect off the field but he was a smart player on it, made a lot of very good defenders look stupid with the lines he ran.
-
ha ha I reckon I am a harder judge on him because of the Pakeak connection! He was a nice guy but not a talkative guy at all.
I think a lot of the coaching and speaking work he did with IRANZ has helped out. The first time they had him on sky I was kind of stumped, thinking maybe they were just paying him per word
Similar to Jane I don't think he's anywhere as dull as some folks make out.
Hell yeah, his job was to make others look stupid on the field!!
-
Procter is not going to be starting and will not cost the Canes going back to back no matter wait @Bones or I think. Procter has a top knot which makes him a fluffy bunny anyway.

I think if Marshall has time to sit and think about what he is saying, he is very good and analytical (ie when he was doing a piece in the Ferald) but when he is speaking off the cuff, he gets emotional and talks shit.

I also think his insight at set piece is very good, he quite often picks what teams are going to do based on their set up.
Although if that was the only time he talked during the game he'd add about the same amount of value.

He's probably better suited to the sideline role that Ian Smith has for the Test matches. I'd prefer Wilson in the colour commentator seat

that will keep those Lions on side!!
-
Looks to me like the Canes are burning all of their good fortune before bloody kickoff. They need to reign it in.

Hurricanes flyhalf Beauden Barrett got a hole-in-one on the 183m Par 3 12th at Steyn City on Wednesday.
Who would believe seeing that picture, that the bloke in it is one of the best rugby players on the planet?
Hole in one as well. If they hit the casino, the lucky bastard will probably pick up the jackpot on the pokies. And fuck a supermodel.
