@reprobate whether Julian woulda got him or not is irrelevant, hecwas in a position to attempt and was denied by a dumb pointless move by dhp.
Oh and I'd be furious too if we were on the end of that...but IMO still correct in the rule book
If you want to look at the Laws, Savea grabbed DHP's shirt first as he turned to chase. First offence, play advantage, try awarded

@reprobate he wasnt he was beside him and changed his line. if he was in front I agree.
I think the try should have be given. Full stop. Period. Some more full stops to make my point understood but.....if the Oz winger hadn't (needlessly) stuck his hand out and looked like he tried to grab J Savea them we wouldn't be having the argument. But he did and "no try" is the result.
It was an act of real stupidity from DHP. I doubt Savea would have caught him, but DHP invited the TMO decision. He is the one that Cheika should be most pissed at.

Unsung AB sub for me Is Wyatt Crockett - he's become mR dependable these days - doesn't get as much credit as he deserves for jhis work at ruck and in the linking as well
Hell yes. Crockett was the man when he game on. Smashed a few wobblies, just dominated. Him and Faumuina made a huge difference.

@dingo i wouldn't of had any complaints if it had been awarded and I am not fussed it wasn't.
It was a bit more than sticking an arm out though...the arm one was in the coles non try.
And I said at the time of Coles non try, I think that was Nigel going WTF, and thinking I'll cancel out what I think should have been a try with another try that should be but....yeah, nah.

Oooh... One of the questions for Cheika was "do you have any comment about what they've achieved with 18 wins in a row?"
Response:
"Oh mate I don't really think they want my comment. They dressed us up as clowns today so they wouldn't really want our comment. I don't think they'd respect our comment anyway, so we won't make one"
Another reporter: "what do you mean they dressed you up as clowns?"
Cheika: "It was on the front page of the paper, bro. So I won't bother making a comment" -- bit more comment here, before losing his line a little before another reporter (kiwi) asks: "Reading between the lines, do you take that as a mark of disrespect?"
Cheika starts to respond, Moore cuts in
"Yeah mate, I do. Abosolutely"Then some other reporters want to hunt that line down with Moore. He didn't want much of it, but seemed pretty offended that the Wallaby jersey - and all those who pulled it on - were basically slighted by that.

Was pretty shit of the ground announcer to mention the unenviable 2 clean sweep series losses too as a record for Aus after praising ours.

Yep. It's kind of the same if there is a kick and chase and one guy grabs the jersey of another who won't even get near the ball. Had no impact on the try being scored, but stupid illegal play. HP should cop crap for this not the refs.

Are you, in any way, surprised? You've still got people booing Quade Cooper for a 5 minute appearance.

You'd expect there's a difference in professionalism.

I was sitting right on that sideline and Savea had 20 metres or so to catch him, he was almost up to him when he got bumped. Both disallowed tries could have gone either way but I was OK with both decisions but it could have easily gone the other way
-
@NTA It certainly wasn't the whole ground like years past but you can't stop people doing shit like that. Reminds me of EPL football where the fans will even boo a player who used to play for cross town rivals, even if he no longer plays for them!

Like to think so. But, as with the media, there is an audience to play to.
I've reiterated this a few times, but the current state of AB fan behaviour in these cases, is probably down to the way the bandwagon Wallaby fans started going the fluffybunny when Eales' team was winning regularly. At that point, some of that rugby camaraderie stuff was probably lost.

Extremely classy press conference from Hansen, Chieka and Moore could learn a lot from it.
Understand what you mean about Cheika.
What bugged you about Moore? The honest assessment of his team's performance?
Or was it the bit where he was sticking up for the jersey and refused to get needled any further on it?

Was going to be a very close race. The replay only has a couple of steps before DHP got involved, so its hard to judge who was gaining or losing ground. I'd back Speight's pace from there, or an offload to DHP.

@NTA Your winger should have had the discipline to leave Savea alone. Sometimes you get away with shit, other times not, that's rugby. The Coles one could have easily seen Foley in the bin and a penalty try awarded. BTW who signalled for the TMO on the aussie non-try? Was correct protocol followed?
