If it was an all expenses paid trip, sweet, would have thrown in the AUssie thing in a flash.
Funny - that is how I explain it to people. Competing for the NZ Barbarians in Oz, or the All Blacks in Spain!

Pretty stoked though, got the officail selection letter today - that's one for the archives, that's for sure. Never thogh when I got married that a few years later I would be getting selected in a NZ team for ANY sport, WITH my wife. Still shake my head over this whole chapter in our lives.

A big black pit. I visited one yesterday on day five of zero carbs. Zero enthusiasmi for anything! But today is carb up time. Nothing major, but the biody will love me for it! Eight Race wafers for breakfast with 100g chicken, 4 with JAM mid morn with 150 chicken, 200g chicken 4 wafers and green veg for lunch - it's all good.

Visisted trainer yesterday, retaining water like mad on thighs and on back, otherwise all going well. So stair climbing yesterday and today on the menu. Worried - yes, but not much you can do but look back and see what you have done and change. Been a bit different this time arounf trying to keep mass on as opposed to having to target a weight and get down to it, which had me losing muscle, fat, hair and anything else I could! We'll find out what works by Aussie, Waikato and the nationals at the end of the year!
Vanessa looking fuckiung amazing. Will have to put some comp photos up from the three she has done, it is a different person - upper body always been pretty good, but is much bettter too, but the legs, un-fucking-believable changes. She should be winning this Auckland comp overall. If not, the lady that takes it will certainly be looking prettyb fantastic.

kiwifruit with the rolled oats at the moment - everything is controlled at the moment - sugars (carbs) in, protein in, can be more lose and sub stuff in the off season, but with the 24th fast approaching, everything counts!
Bulgarian split squat w/weights - I see you're already doing lunges etc. Put one foot on a chair or bench with other foot forward in a lunge position and holding a weight in each hand and squat. Love this exercise supersetted with incline pressing.
Is that what it is called! I'm doing those at the moment, super setting them with leg extensions - blowing my mind, and my legs off the pain scale - no weights though, I don't think I could at the moment!!

four weeks to go until Auckland NABBA from this coming Saturyda. Lean down into second week, and weight this morning 90.7kg. Traininer reckons will be mid to high 80s once leaned down. max weight during training has been about 93, and the initial weight loss is usually fluid before you start getting rid of the last vestiges of body fat.

I think that's the issue as well. My wife has been doing Pilates classes here for her back and the difference with her has been marked. So am going to do the same thing, the guy that runs it is also a physio and has been highlighted some areas of weakness (besides head to toe I mean....) that's causing some imbalances and stress when I'm exercising.

Hope it's the answer.

I currently weighing in at 91 odd kg, have a four pack (two bottom abs still in hibernation), traniner has me eating like a mad man. But skinfold measurements all good very lean, just feel fat! A far cry from the 78kg comp weight last year. think I'll be mid to early 80s when I lean down for Oz, and probably a bit more for AUckland in 7 weeks - aiming to peak for the Oz comp, lots of goodies to be won there, including a trip to compete in Vegas!!

Will get the Mrs to take some photos. It's not fair at the moment, she is leaning down, and looking like an anatomy lesson, while I am not - she calls me Fatty Booomsticks!!

  • Heavy bars vs light ones, differences ?
i don't know if it does make any difference at all to be fair, your two contact points with the bar will still be loaded up to the max weather the weights are at each end of the bar, or if they were all in the middle, if you know what I mean??
Yeah not having a 20 kg bar I can't test it but can assure everyone that a rep of say 80 kg on the light bar ( 20kg x 4 + bar = 80 ) is definitely harder than ( 20kg x 2, 5kg x 6 + 10kg bar = 80kg )

I'm sure its cos 10 of those kg are spread out along the whole bar as opposed to being on the ends. Kind of like tackling a guy who is 100kg may be easier if he is 6 foot 10 as opposed to 5 foot 5. This may not make sense written down but it does in my mind, unfortunately no one can see my hand gestures.

Thanks for all the comments, physio is down to two days per week and it is coming right now. Have to bend my knees for everything i do and that is hard to get used to. Will spend all Feb with light weight, high reps and then ramp it back up in March when hopefully my lower back and posture is better.

Murphy's law bro! maybe you had asthma during that time but thought it was the ciggies or you were just a bit chopped!! A cruel joke from your body tho!

On a more serious note could it be the chemicals at the pools triggering it? chlorine etc, young childrens pee in the pool even!!

Being a cack hander it is my right side which is a tiny bit smaller/weaker but even Arnie had this problem when he was holding Sully over the edge of the cliff in 'Commando" and warned him that it was his "weak arm", obviously Arnies weak arm is still stronger than damn near anyones strong arm but you get the drift.

Interestingly I can grip quite a bit harder with my right hand as opposed to the left and I put this down to the fact it is my fretting hand ( I've played the guitar and bass for years )

buying the real food is more expensive (how wrong is that - fresh veg and fresh meats more expensive than suasages and processed shit, but I digress). But the protein powders and that sort of shit is expensive as fuck - hence looking for a sponsor / sponsors!!
