NFJ is all but unimpeachable. Apart from his name...I called him Dick Fart-Jones as a kid, with his sidekick Michael Vagynagh.

Poor old BOD, he does cop it doesn't he? In his tweet he expressed an opinion on the Franks incident, an opinion that many on here feel the same about, then cops some feral responses and reacts. Cue a load of frothing on The Fern. Not much of a mention about the petty responses to his first innocuous tweet. In the report (from Stuff let us not forget, the same Stuff that has a whole thread on here to itself about how shite it is)there does not seem to be any proper attempt at a timeline and nor do we know about how many other feral tweets he got in response. His only really twatty tweet he deleted and admitted it was petty.

I'm not sure how much more the bloke can do without winding some of you guys up like clockwork. Live in a monastery and take a vow of silence might do it, but I doubt it.

Twitter is a medium as is Facebook - what you read on it is your own personal choice - suffice to say, the best and worst of humanity is easy to find. I really like Twitter, but then I don't follow "famous" people at all - if you follow the good journos and other interesting folk it is an excellent way to get a really fast impression of sporting events without having to wade through reams of words. Pick your moments, too much social media of any sort is bad for you.

No, I'd be cool with him doing that.

With his history raising his head above the parapet and joining the thrashwank with Jones, the Turtleneck turd and Moore was never going to get him a nice response from kiwis especially on twitter . A vow of silence from him would be fantastic.
-

Seems like it was BOD who got all wound up this time. I'm astounded that he could have gotten feral responses on Twitter. Of all places, Twitter? That must have been totally unexpected.
-
The things is though Jegga, that most of the stuff I've seen from him on the 2005 incident has been for some years now, only in response to being goaded about it. For the most part he's stated that it's all water under the bridge. Unfortunately people won't let that go and seemingly he's not bright enough to ignore that. Either that or he's much brighter than he seems and he's running a double bluff.

This latest thing is all a big hoo-ha about nothing and he's not the one making it into anything other than the insignificant exchange of views and insults than it was. Ask yourself this - was this little twitter spat worthy of such a piece of "journalism" and the concurrent outpouring of bile?

I just don't get it mate.

Kane Douglas has had a quiet word (article may contain traces of BOD):

http://www.foxsports.com.au/rugby/wallaby-kane-douglas-says-he-didnt-feel-he-was-victim-of-eye-gouge-from-all-black-owen-franks/news-story/7ff281114a9957c8cab90ea10ebdbd8e

WALLABIES lock Kane Douglas has tried to diplomatically defuse the outrage over “Gougegate†by saying he never felt his eyes were being attacked by All Black Owen Franks.

...

The burly Douglas was uneasy about discussing the hot topic for the first time after TV footage showed the fingers of prop Franks over and around the lock’s eyes at a maul.

The angst of O’Driscoll and others worldwide is that the matter was not even judged worthy of a hearing when anything that resembles a dangerous or tip tackle is rushed to a citing.

“I probably didn’t realise how bad it looked until after the game (when watching it on TV),†Douglas said.

“My eyes were fine and it all happened so quickly I was on to the next thing in the game.â€

When asked if he felt he had been eye-gouged, Douglas was clear.

“I didn’t think of it like that,’’ he said. “It was an All Black trying to stop me driving through the maul, arms everywhere and everything happening in a few seconds.

“I’ve got no issue at all but obviously you want to be protecting the eyes of players.’’
-

The evidence of this whole saga is the same conclusion you can draw from all of rugby.

Yeah no shit, but I don't see anybody here slandering an entire nation because of an incident that occurred in a rugby game. Hence my comment that it was BOD who got wound up. Plenty of people have stated what a cock he is, but I'm yet to see anyone insult his country over this.
-

I see Twitter spats about all sorts of inane shit in the news these days and I usually ignore them . This time it was about an all black game , the usual dishonest Nh shills who never miss an opportunity for a snide cheap shot at our expense piled in then Saint Brian who was martyred in 2005 decided he'd like a piece of it too . It is Twitter so what did he expect? Lots of people here still have a fair bit of contempt for him , it's hardly surprising he got the reaction here did .

If he says its water under the bridge he's got a funny way of showing it . Taking to Twitter and fapping over an incident that the supposed " victim" says didn't actually happen wasn't a particularly wise choice from him. -

It's never a good idea for a "celebrity" to engage anonymous trolls who have nothing to lose and aren't necessarily representing an actual view they hold, whereas the celeb can end up saying something they regret later and look foolish.

Fair play to you. But on a NZ rugby forum, it's hardly a surprise that people are going to have a crack at him for those comments, particularly when he's not exactly a fan favourite to begin with. Nothing unusual or odd there.

Who cares what provoked the Tweet btw? He's an idiot for getting into a fight on Twitter in the first place. Now some sad anonymous NZer (lets call him Wingar) is happily pulling himself over having provoked an Irish rugby legend over absolutely nothing.
