All Blacks Vs England, Twickenham
-
After lots of wet weather in the London area in September and October, it's look like the All Blacks are going to have dry weather for their training in England and for their match at Twickenham next Saturday:
-
17 players have been central England contract. Alex Mitchell is injured, but the others are all available I think.

So a guess at the team:
1 De Groot
2 Taylor
3 Lomax
4 S. Barrett (c)
5. Vaii
6. Sititi
7. God knows. Cane?
8. Savea
9. Ratima
10. Beauden Barrett
11. Caleb Clarke
12. Jordie Barrett
13. Reiko Ioane
14 Mark Telea
15. Will JordanI think the only question is over the right wing/fullback role. Maybe Love gets a go at 14 (but more likely it will be Tele'a).

I do like a lot of what he brings to the table with his running lines and distribution, Unfortunately for him that miss looked Pretty bad

Right wing is still an issue. Telea is continually exposed on defence, and I can see England isolating him again.
Yeah I'm usually Telea's number 1 fan but he's almost become 2024's version of Nehe Milner Skudder overnight. He looks slower and isn't having the same impact in close quarters like he was last season.
I feel like this could be his last campaign with the ABs.

Tele'a ran 80 metres, scored a try, had two try assists, two line breaks, and 9 defenders beaten. You don't think that was an impact? What else were you expecting him to do? I think most test wingers would be stoked with those stats.

Most players did out there, I think @KiwiMurph pointed out and rightly too, that if Caleb Clarke had the space out there that Tele'a and Reece had, I dread to think how badly things would have turned out for Japan. This Japanese side couldn't tackle. He got gassed out there on defence on a few occasions too.
As I said, I'm a huge Tele'a fan and he's done some great things for the Blues and ABs, but right now, I can't make a case for him. I hope he finds his best again.

I'm not expecting Tele'a to fix his defense. His defensive issues haven't changed for years.
Look Caleb Clarke is clearly the best winger we have based on his form and speed this year. His speed improved but I don't expect to see Reece or Tele'a ever getting that kind of speed in their game.
There aren't too many lightening quick wingers floating around NZ at the moment.

Based on what I saw I'd have Roigard on the bench with Ratima starting. Roigard isn't back to his best form yet and there were some defensive issues around the ruck.
It's a good problem to have!
-
@booboo I wasn't going to think about the bench until the injury situation became a bit clearer and we knew who was travelling to Europe.
But I guess the bench Vs England will be something like this:
Aumua, Williams, Tosi, Tuipolutu, Finau, Roigard, DMac, ALB.
-
Ollie Chesham is a doubt for England:

I honestly don't believe the best use of Finau is off the bench.
-
He’s a loss for us. We only have three good locks, him Itoje and Martin, any others are a real step down. Plus he offers good cover at 6, which gives us more flexibility on the bench. We’re struggling at prop too, with Borthwick seemingly reluctant to give many youngsters a go. Cole and Marler don’t have too many miles left in them.
