That's about 10 players though. And I'm not convinced Havili is the man for the future...

I am not convinced he is the man for the present.

Weirdest selection of the lot. Zero logic.

    @African-Monkey

Against Australia and Japan. The sides ranked 10th and 14th in the world. Wippee-do!

I don't expect Dave to make the next RWC either.

But for now, the third best second five that's not him hasn't yet stamped his mark, so in the meantime I'm happy enough to have him there.

They're going to pick Jordie, Reiko and ALB for the next three tests, barring injury - and Dave and Proctor seem like the next best cover to me.

We can play another round of Super mrugby and see who stamps themselves in.

How many Super matches has AJ started at 12?

Is it more the 17 tests Dave has started at 12?

Lam started at 12 in the business end of Super Rugby and he was amongst the best players on the field.

Lam even looked excellent at 12 for the shithouse Auckland npc team.

It looks like a spot that suits his game.

He showed enough a decent selector would have given him a crack.

I don't think I'm going out on a limb here to say the average fan would be a lot more forgiving if we lost due to giving Lam a try over giving Havili a try.

But of course that wouldn't suit CB's narrative so we can ignore the more obvious example.

David Havili hitting the touchie with a cut out pass should be his last act in Black to be fair.

Yes. Yes he has! It's a fact. Sorry to be a fluffybunny who provided a fact.

Someone tells me Razor'ss not playing enough rookies and I provide some stats showing that he picked 11 rookies in the latest test. But, apparently I'm a fluffybunny again.

I ask someone to tell me how many time AJ has started at 12 - and I'm a fluffybunny yet again. With a narrative.

Maybe somone else could be a fluffybunny who turns up with some facts?! ๐Ÿ™‚

That was more of a surprise to me than anything. I thought he played about 10 max there.

I think we're a good chance to win perhaps two of these three games.
My reason for optimism is the injection of power we get when we sub on Tosi, Williams, Aumua, and Tuipolotu.
Add to that possibly Roigard as the subbed on half and that is (potentially) very serious impact off the bench.

Seven players who debuted this year, four additional players with only a handful of caps (Finau, Roigard, Perofeta, Lord).

David Havili gets a lot of undue criticism on here...

I think if paired with a big centre he could be a pretty good international 12. I don't think he should've been selected in the squad but he's not a terrible player.

His kick to the wing was actually perfectly placed - he obviously thought he had a runner out there. It wasn't a lack of skill, he just made a small mistake. And criticising him for laughing it off? We don't want these players getting in their heads when they're making 'positive' errors like that (in, might I add a game that's already well and truly been decided) - I have absolutely no issues with how he reacted.
