I'm not a fan of Sam Cane in recent years but he cleans and is more effective at the breakdown than Blackadder.
And he stops people dead in their tracks.

@brodean I have loved the Michael Jones and Ardie Savea type of 7s who are great runners. Richie was not as good but could do a job. Sam Cane in comparison was not good and seems a bit slow but he’s grown on me. He tackles well, and if he hits a heap of rucks then, I think he can do enough to contribute toward a good game for the team. Just don’t expect him to be a great runner.
I’m guessing they are hoping that if South Africa are looking to shut Ardies go forward down, then hopefully Satiti can provide another dynamic running game to split the defence.

Blackadder lacks the physicality of Kaino, Read, Messam, Vito, Squire, Luatua, Fifita, Hemopo, Ioane, Jacobson and Frizell.
You have to go back to Adam Thompson to get the same lack of physicality. At least Thompson won turnovers, had genuine pace, and was a seriously good lineout operator.

Did someone just say Richie could "do a job"????
Surely this place hasn't decended that far.

Seems like some people have short memories.

to be fair, it was in relation to running like Michael Jones and Ardie - mobile 7s. Richie may have walked on water, carried a cloak of invisibiltiy and had an engine bigger than Thomas, but he wasn't as mobile as those two.
Still the GOAT though.
-
Remember Richie's early linking play??
Fuck me...
-
@mariner4life 100%, and he evolved his game as WR kept changing the rules to nullify him and still remained the GOAT regardless. What a player, what a man.

From 2001? I'm struggling! I remember his breakdown work drove law changes ... now that's GOAT status. Don't remember him running like Michael Jones though (or Ardie)
-
i remember a lot of running one in from the edge, good connection....would also manage to get back to a midfield ruck before anyone else

I hope so, it was the major improvement of Fosters ABs - changes forced by outside like injured players or NZR with assist coaches!
So we were better when he couldn't make his selections, and other people did the coaching...🙂
That's the most roundabout way of saying that Foster was shit that I have seen yet! Nice one.
This thread is ascending into the greatness of Richie though, that's a good sign since the game isn't until Sunday morning.

FFS, Sititi had a few good games for the Chiefs this year but his rise is mirroring the Tongan thug's. Hopefully he turns into a better player than that flake.
He seems like a good kid with leadership qualities, my concern is it too much too early ?
Yeah, my post wasn't intended to be a direct criticism of him as such, more in his elevation to the team and remembering how the Tongan flake thug was also elevated off only a small CV.

You forgot Isitolo Maka, Aran Pene and probably a couple of hundred irrelevant PIs.
Anyway, only one of those players is in the squad, and Blackadder has been playing better than him. -

Wallace is definitely a ball carrier, let's hope he gets stuck in.
