If Cortez gets quick clean ball it will allow the back line to set up deeper
If they do that I can see plenty of tries coming from 1-5 phase ball

@Stag yeah, he would have started again if fit, but the coaches are looking pretty silly right now having to play a rookie in an unfamiliar position when Blackadder very predictably got injured again.
This is precisely why you only ever pick Todd's son as a versatile squaddie or bench option - because he will inevitably get injured and cause too much disruption.

Or you at least pick a like for like player in the squad, just in case

I didn't realize Nortje was such a revolving door and given Etzebeth was already on so many minutes I take back my initial assumption the Boks will be that much stronger.
But we will possibly be quite a bit weaker and losing Clarke hurts. Hope the ABs play out of their skins and have some new plays. One thing seems clear to me now, this is Razor's favourite midfield. At least, defensively. -

Fucking chirpy for a guy with a 66% win rate, ie less than foster
I don't recall Foster starting his reign against such good sides?

If you are happy with our results more power to you.

They can both kick long but don't, it's gotta be tactics
Beaudie hasn’t kicked long for ages.
DMac did get some good purchase on the weekend in the 1st half. And surprise surprise we are playing in the right end of the field.
It’s the chip kicks that killed us. The same chips that killed us when McAlister and Mauger rarely made it happen.
Someone put up the stats on regathers for contestables/chips. They're on a par with the BOE bank base rate.

Not perfect but we are seeing more structure and less headless chicken moments. Upward curve

Really? Maybe visited to foster, but once Schmidt was on board things were better than they are now
-
@Crazy-Horse the Danish Architect?
-
@Machpants You have a point. I wouldn't say worse cf Schmidt about the same. Some senior players have retired.
We played bloody well last week excluding the last 15 mins including a man down. The game deserved better officiating.
This weekend is going to answer a lot of questions. I hope the officials don't dominate. -

Cortez is a great bet to score.
He will be getting 20 of my hard earned quid on the nose.
He will be like Lee Harvey Oswald from the base of the ruck.

Listening to Razor, sounded like benching TJP was more about acknowledging they can’t finish and want him there to do just that
-
Aaaahhh, do we remember what TJP used to be like off the bench? Calm and measured are not words I would use.
Headless and frantic would be better -

Not what I said. I'm not happy with the results but if we are comparing ratios we should also consider the level of competition.
First Ian Foster season according to
50% winning percentage -
Three wins, one draw (Wallabies), two losses (Wallabies and Argentina)
+84 points difference -

I'm really surprised they'd bring his slower passing on in the last 20 or 30 minutes. Perhaps they have limited options..
