The Blues loosies rip up trees all season and can't even make the plane. Sititi has a few cameos and a huge SF and the coaches have such a horn for him that they'll play him out of position against the world champs with the two game series on the line. Wow
Papali'i should definitely be playing but Sititi fully deserves his spot, he was a standout for Chiefs all season.
Apart from when it mattered in the final, like this pretty much is!

Or did somebody disparage his character i.e. a Pap smear?

I see Stuff reporting that Beauden and TJP have been "demoted". That line of thinking needs to end in the modern game, they are in the 23 and will be expected to come on and teclose the game for us, which is one of the most important roles in the team.
Just want to add that at times this team has brought on subs for the sake of it and performance hasn't improved. We need to think clearly if we need them if playing well

Jesus christ, that better work.
That's an incredible drop for Finau if true, and it better be an inspiring selection of Sititi.
I can't see it.
I wonder what Finau has or hasn't done. Bit bizarre to play an inexperienced 8 at 6 and leave a bloke chosen as a 6 out of the 23.
Hope it comes off as it could get ugly otherwise.

Ethan Blackadder is injured that is the reason Sititi is starting and Jacobsen is on the bench.
Well thank fuck!
Broken as usual and as I said before, not world class and added little to a struggling AB team.

At least Sititi in starting won’t be there at business end, where experience of Jacob’s son will be valuable.
I don't understand the rationale for Jacobson over Papali'i. Cane and Savea are already small loosies, Jacobson is like-for-like, but Papali'i is the biggest loose forward in the squad and should be in the 23.

That's not actually true, he toiled well in a thoroughly beaten side. Better than say Jacobson & Vaai.

Because they're going to sub Wallace, and Dalton is a bit shit at 6.

Exciting team
My biggest fear is the ref.
I'm as biased as the next AB supporter but this guy whistled us off the park last year.
I hope he has a good game and let's the rugby flow. I don't want the officials being the centre of attention -

@Kiwiwomble you are appropriately named. Blackadder has been in of the best AB’s this season and clearly would have started again.
are their any stats to back up he's one of the best ABs? leading tackle count? dominant tackles? even rucks hit? turnovers?
Yeah there are some, as discussed in the Argie tests. He's performed better than the other loosies in terms of numbers.
Seems to me like some can't get over the fact he didn't deserve selection in the first place off fuck-all game time, and want a Crusader to blame so they can claim Razor has bias against their provincial favourite.
I wasn't a fan of picking him initially, but he's earned his starting spot, by playing considerably better than the other guys selected. -

Yeah, no point having a specialist in Papalii on the bench with three players starting who can all play 7.

@Kiwiwomble they're just stats that point to him being the busiest - not the best or most effective.

funny how a guy they claim had his cheekbone broken can play the next week
Yes but that particular player is so classy he can turn the other cheek for 80 minutes.
-
@nostrildamus are yes. The Wallabies. A notoriously tough and physical team…. Watch the final and semi finals against the crusaders. Akira and Sotutu got bullied by Blackadder, Grace, and Christie (and Matera). So what I said is true. Every time Akira comes up against opposition as big or bigger, he’s a marshmallow. Don’t show me highlight reals of dogshite

Just been given the backline for this weekend below. Again, this contact hasn’t led me astray before so very reliable. Very very surprised by some choices and the amount of changes which makes you question the accuracy but fuck it, hasn’t been wrong yet so yeah sharing with the fern. Caleb Clarke is out injured.
- Ratima
- Dmac
- Telea
- J.Barrett
- Ioane/ALB(this isn’t yet decided)
- Reece
- Jordan
Bench
21. Perenara
22. B.Barrett
23. Couldn’t quite hear the name or whatever was said there unfortunately, I’m guessing whoever isn’t selected at 13 so either Ioane or ALB.The correct Q is no longer what time is ABs team announced but what time is Landers92 posting the team?
-
@canefan Akira and Sotutu wouldn’t add anything. They’re mentally weak and can’t handle the pressure. They’re not any better than they were in 2022 and 2023. They just didn’t have to deal with a functional and fully fit crusaders team. The semi final and final in 22’ and 23’ where they got man handled is evidence enough. One swallow doesn’t make a spring. Add Dalton to that group as well
