I'm not surprised "journos" write anything to stay employed.

do modern sports journos in NZ much more than minimum wage? I thought it was terribly paid unfortunately. @Smudge any insights?

I know guys who have been around for a good 8-10 years (and in one case more than 20) are still on salaries starting with a 7.

No wonder so many disappear to comms where a starting salary for a comms advisor is potentially $80k or more.

Comms Advisors in the team I work in make around 86k a year, with Senior Advisors on 110k+

I left my last journalism job on about $64k. Three years later, in a senior comms advisor role, I was on $98k. Worlds apart.

Da fuq, that's peanuts. Although TBF, considering the students I used to see when cutting through the journalism dept when I worked at Massey, that's probably a good wicket for them.

Jase Ryan talking up Tupou Vaa'i - absolutely loves him.
Expect to see him starting ahead of Darry.

Yep. I don’t think that was ever in doubt with PT unavailable. Hinton putting Darry ahead of him is fantasy stuff.

If we were to go 6-2 on Saturday, would we go for two locks or two loosies?

@Machpants is a tough one really, I mean i have no issues with the head coach wanting to pit together his coaching team and expect Leon was always top of Razors list, meaning he was likely not gonna go to the likes of Brown unless Leon knocked him back.

That said, I expect the whole point of the coach putting his team together is to avoid what happened with Fozzie and now Leon.

Here's some further fuel to the flames.

“If you’re not better now than you were last year, you’ve got a problem,” said Kriel of NZ.

The big thing for us is that we want to stay ahead of the curve and keep working on our individual skills to get better. I definitely believe we’re a better team than we were last year.

Kriel has given credit to the impact of Kiwi Tony Brown – the attack coach under Rassie Erasmus this year."

throwing him in against South Africa at Ellis Park after only one test would be moronic

So you're saying he's not good enough?

Starting XV is average. Bench a bit scary.

How often has PSDT played lock before?

    Who is Ben-Jason Dixon?

So much for the story about Steenekamp starting with Nche going back to the bench. Lomax will be against a short LH.

The ABs have to seize the initiative early and put the rookie 10 under serious pressure, then once Pollard comes on kick intelligently, win the territory battle and avoid giving away penalties.

Get it right and the ABs will rock the Boks' world and give them a famous beating.

Sit back, be passive, even switch off and we've seen this movie before.

Pffft, playing a flanker in the second row, two opensides and a couple of no names in the backs? He's taking the piss. Absolutely outrageous disrespect.

    Springboks by 25.

@sparky I know BJD very well. He root from Paul Roos x Head boy. He played lock and 7 flank all his career and very similar to PSdT. High work rate and and a tough customer.
