Midfield really good. Reiko's best game this year, Jordie playing to the level we need.
I’ve been a bit surprised at some of the post game comments that were critical or didn’t acknowledge this because I thought he was superb. He put pressure on the Bok defence time and again. His involvement at attacking rucks was excellent too given the way we were attacking and the Boks defending.
Far more assertive and involved. Was great to see.
Some have harked back to the McCaw era and what is worth pointing out is that during that golden phase of AB success we had some rabbit out of the hat wins at the death similar to what the Boks did last night (reffing aside). And that was an AB side laden with class across the park. The Boks had some class too no doubt. But more often than not the ABs would find a way. Wasn’t always the case in the early period of McCaw’s reign as captain. It was the Boks that found a way.
We made errors, the Boks did also. The pressure and chaos was all there. But there were some distinct things that were good to see, but plenty to work on for some, which given the scoreline does have some promise.

Being very contrary but consider the complexity of the laws, did
Jordie knock the ball on in the tackle?
Did Mbonambi then ground the ball playing under SA advantage? In theory he may have, and let’s say he did, the fact is that it’s never been reffed like that in a tackle. It has been reffed as a knock on from a strip/rip but that’s not what Jordie did.

It was clearly a try, the ref put his hand in air and indicated such!
Yes as you say, that's a fair beerfaction.
Hey everyone life is back to normal, Dan agrees with the powers that be.
Yep and as normal some don't want to accept the laws of the game, no problem, I expect I am right though
TMO didn't see a probelm, neither did ref, so not sure why there an argument.Besides all else I not convinced he lost it forward, looked straight down to me .
Wow, you say some shit Dan, but that might top it. He lost it forward and he fell short. The pictures don't lie in this case
My actual point is mate, what we read in papers is all that counts. We can say it no try until we blue in the face, but if the ref says it is (he may of made a mistake,)but it still a try. My point is if the ref says it a try it is officially etc, and we can't or won't change it.. I can't say the ref's word counts when the decisions go in our favour and then moan when they don't.I said the same when living in Aus and Phil Kearns and co were on tv saying ABs shouldn't of won 2011 WC final, ref gave it to us etc etc.
The number of times I have heard/read it from losing supporters is just ridiculous. Why are you on a forum?
Because I love rugby, didn't know you had to be a whinger to come on here.

Did Mbonambi then ground the ball playing under SA advantage?I would argue JB was trying to hold him up and he dropped the ball short. Surely the carrier has to accept some responsibility? It is frustrating that the TMO butts their head in routinely, and yet here they were strangely silent. But the ABs clearly didn't know either because even JB didn't protest the call
JB did protest, you can see him gesture with his hands, but after the TJP penalty it was rather subdued.

Don't need to whinge, but people like to discuss rugby.; the tactics, execution, style, decisions etc. So to me it's valid to complain about something that quite clearly shouldn't be.

Plenty of times it’s been called as a defensive knock on when a hand or head in the tackle has seen the ball squeezed out like a zit

Time for Captain's challenges?

Pretty disappointing. We had that game but indiscipline and unforced errors handed it to them. “20 out. 20 out”. Finau stays in…
I’m not going to be Irish and whine on and on and on but the first SA try deserved a review. In saying that Williams was getting folded at each scrum and not penalised so both ways.

No thanks, I generally think the ref will check if captain says something anyway. Just out of interest the Boks and some Saffa supporters are saying the first AB try was dodgy as it looked like Lomax could of been in front of Savea (so blocking)as he came back do ground when he won that lineout.
I say that was a try too! -

We are too nice in the media. We have to go fucking ape shit over this.
Since 2017 we have been turning the other cheek.
Mate you need to settle down. Constant chip on shoulders won’t bring back lost games and it dulls the thread.

Has a player ever been penalised for calling out foul play from the other side to try and get a penalty before? Can anyone remember? I know they get walked 10m sometimes for backchat, but to penalise someone calling for a penalty was pretty unprecedented from what I can tell. We were dominating up to that point and it should have been 10-0, but that swung momentum, and then just to top it off the try they scored on the back of that momentum was complete horseshit.
I thought our players composed themselves well again after that, and we threatened to run away with it but just couldn't quite put them away. Then ill discipline cost us at the end when the game was closer than it should have been, and SA rode the wave home - credit to them for that.

There are a thousand little calls that get missed in every game.
A knock-on in the act of scoring is, in the current way the game is reffed, always checked. Except today. -

Fuck that man. Death threats is the new get out of jail card for incompetence. Politicians and refs the world over are leaning on that particular gambit every time they shit the bed.
I hope Andrew Brace steps on dog shit and his flight home is delayed but I don’t want him deceased.
Well actually, fuck it. Kill him.
Ok you go onto my ignore list. Keep a control of yourself man.

No it doesn't Mike, you're over egging it. It's only called that way if it's a strip or a hand on the pass. Not if you hit someone and they drop it, that's just stupid.

I thought the ref generally had a good game.
Well that makes you and Mrs Brace.
You can add me to the list as he generally has a good game. But the 5% of the time where he didn’t have a good game…
In saying that I’ve always maintained that the best sides find a way to win in spite of the ref. Notably mccaw’s sides over the years, 2007 excepted.
