Canes vs Sharks
-

I would have persisted with Jason Woodward. He was just starting to find some form if you ignore the blunder against the Chiefs. He has been fairly solid and is starting to punch holes more often on attack with his size

Overall its a good squad and it should to the business in Durban.
-

Woodward on form looks very good. But when he has a quiet game like he did last week he offers almost nothing. That's an issue with him. He is too inconsistent

Shields was quiet last week. He needs to up his game this week. But this is the starting best side. My only concern is the lack of game time for other options in a number of positions. Esp HB and 1st 5. I agree with these selections though and just hope there are not any injuries in these positions if they make the finals. (who is the 7 cover)
-

That's the same with Marshall though. If he isn't in form then he doesn't really have the x factor to create much else. He deserves another crack though I guess considering he was inform before his concussion.

In terms of having open=side cover on the bench I guess Victor Vito can cover there if need be. He started there for the All Blacks against Canada in WC 2011. Actually id prefer someone like Mark Abbott off the bench rather than Callum Gibbins. Gibbins doesn't have too much impact at this level. That showed in last years final when Ardie was ruled out and he was forced to step into his shoes.

I know its a risk against the Reds next week but I would like to see TTT and Black get a chance in the halves with Barrett and Perenara as insurance on the bench. They need some game time and I think the Reds will be the perfect challenge for them.
-

The thing with the Canes now is they can't afford to lose any more games. And the coaches seem to have gone the Marshall as cover for 1st route anyway with JGP as the next half options. So TT and Black will (thankfully) not happen as a starting combination

Agree on Gibbins. Very limited as a player. Vito would be a much better 7 option
-

I would rather Black run the cutter than Marshall if Beaudy gets injured. Plus Black has the best boot in the squad in regards to kicking goals and that could be vital come the playoffs, TTT too is an exciting talent but is untested at this level. I would love to see them get a run at some point in the season. Maybe if/once we are confirmed in the playoffs they may give them a go to blow out the cobwebs. Both are still very young (20 I think) so I guess the coaches want them to watch and learn this season and only take part if need be.
-
Nothing new, but TJP is a fucking idiot.

Nice try. Sharks' D very good.

Those Ivan Drago twins aren't bad.

Bedtime for me. Will be interesting to find out who won tomorrow. Flip a coin.
