There could be a number of theoretical armchair weightlifting experts on here.

I've gone back to weight training after 20 years off, so it's never too late. It started because I wanted strength to improve my tennis game. So I'm not trying to bulk up, mainly use machines concentrating on good technique and high reps. Over the last few months I'm finding I generally feel better in general, and I want to keep going for my general well being as I get older

It will be interesting to see how they frame the selections if that is the backline. Squad rotation or some other reason?
-
ALB only 29.

Potentially has one RWC left in him then

As I posted at weekend the 23 could be deduced from the NPC releases. Since then Perofeta succumbed to blackadders, so Jordan in.
ALB to start is the talking point.

- Dmac

Remuera Rackets in Auckland. Do you play?

DMac injured on Thursday. Plummer to start and have a blinder.

As DMac's biggest fan, I am sure you wouldn't want that to happen.

One of the most anti ageing things you can do as a man , I’m in my 60s , probably been doing strength training now consistently for 30 years ,good to combine withcardio as well on alternate days , I get cardio from mountain biking

I do many, many low-weight curls - ~12oz.
Seems to get me plenty ripped, but still more-than-somewhat unfit. -

has telea been THAT bad? doesn't feel that long ago he was the second coming, hopefully just needs a push in the right direction

Two tries let in to being out of position/out-jumped from cross-kicks in a single game is a major issue.
It really doesn't matter how good the rest of your game is, if there is a massive weakness that others can exploit quite so dramatically then you aren't going to stay in black.
It's not like the alternatives are that much worse attacking either.

and Sevu Reece got run past in a simple 1 on 1.
It is a holistic assessment. I really rate Sevu, but he is on the small side for Test rugby. Want Caleb back there; his work in the air (particularly at kickoffs) is awesome

@Chester-Draws as i say, i get he has some real work on's and others are currently clearly playing better, just seems a little harsh to suggest "last chance"

Our winger are great at super rugby level but a bit limited at test level
I would prefer Clarke and Rieko. Speed and power. With Love at FB until Jordan is fully fit.

ABs have won 1 of their last 6 tests in Wellington
If they lose this weekend I petition to shift the Bledisloe match out of Wellington....

Even that (1) win was a lackluster result, they only won 26-14 with France playing with 14 men for 70 minutes....
The Auckland & Dunedin tests were absolute routings, 52-11, 49-14.
The cake tin hoodoo is very real.

Just think if the 43,,000 capacity AMI Stadium hadn't sunk in liquefaction the All Blacks historical winning record might be a few digits higher with less fixtures given to Wellington.
2011 pre–world cup against SA is the only high scoring performance in the capital since the 2011 earthquake -. 2012, 13, 14, 16, all low scoring wins... since then all loses except for that 2018 test.
-
Lost to Lions the year before too.
Our record in Wellington is by far the worst in Mz
-
Looks to still be a heap of tickets available as well.

Brace yourself for the team naming.

Jordan, ALB and Darry start. Tuipulotu injured.
-
I don't get the ALB selection, if Ioane isn't starting then surely Proctor deserves that opportunity being the form 13. I actually wouldn't have minded if ALB and Proctor started again together to send a rocket up J Barrett aswell.
-
@Toddy I think a lot of people have their eye on the Aus test in September rather than this week's Argies test.

If it wasn't for SBW's shoulder we would have been sweet.
Yeah the ABs don't have a good record in Welly and we can't even blame the poor weather. The last two tests I've been to were perfect conditions and we lost against South Africa in the last second, and then Ireland aswell. Hopefully we can turn it around.

The allocation of tests this year is odd.
Argentina aren't a draw so would have made more sense to move them out of Eden Park and Sky Stadium that already have other big tests.
