I haven't seen them but apparently Hansen was quoted a while ago saying he doesn't see McKenzie as a wing. 15/10 only. Seems odd but fair enough.

Fair enough too. I hadn't heard that.
-

yeah I reckon right now, DMac is competing with BB for that bench spot, although competing is probably a bit generous as I cant see DMac taking it form BB anytime soon, as talented a player as DMac is.

I recall your Hansen comment being quoted as well, but I'd be a lot more surprised if we saw McKenzie at 10 than on a wing. I'd be pretty surprised if they even put DM on the bench as the designated 10 cover.

I think it was Hansen (but maybe Foster or Fox) who got asked yesterday about having four fullbacks, but only two wings in the squad and his response was that we (the punters) perhaps need to view our back three players as fairly interchangeable. Though, in reality, I think they'd put McKenzie at 15 and Ben Smith on the wing if one of them needed to play there.
-
Just watched the England Wales game. I know we'll be pretty rusty too being first game of the season but Wales were ripe for the picking on turnover ball and pretty damn lost on attack on anything but set piece. Key seemed to be to hit them hard first up then just crowd the inside channels, you'll soon get the ball back.

One of the All Blacks coaches also said they would be looking at ''upskilling'' (or one of those wanky words) McKenzie to give them more options on the wing cover.

I imagine like any good organisation, they will be looking to see how he goes with his KPI's, taking a view of what he should do going forwards, thus empowering him with the necessary tools to maximise the opportunity set outlaid in front of him.

Y'know, for somebody whose as work-politically-savvy as a lemon, my grasp of management wank talk is truly amazing.
-

I orginally thought this but they usually have a "wider training group" that covers this. I think everyone selected for this series will get at least a cameo, minimum
-

I hope so. It would be good to see all the newbies get at least one cap. Much as I like Ngatai, really hope Moala gets a shot.

DMacs superior kicking % could also be a factor.
