@nostrildamus that actually sounds about right....also feels like things that could be worked on....IF he could string a few games together...which is where my problem lies
Yes I'm happy to be proven wrong, he seems like a real team guy with a good personality and super hard worker. I'd just prefer Akira at 6 (sure he is going overseas but BB and Ardie are allowed to slot back in seamlessly). And I'd prefer Hoskins over Jacobson or Blackadder as a backup 8.
Edit: can Sititi play 6?
-
The other strange thing about the loosies is that - aside from Jacobsen and Papalii, they are not similar in style. Blackadder does not play anything like Finau. Sititi does not play anything like Savea. So any argument they're selecting based on the pattern they want to play seems very hard to justify. The only thing I can identify is that they are hell bent on having a limited 7 who does not much other than tackle themselves to a standstill. Poor old Duane Monkley was born too soon.
-
Some of the other nations must be terrified how good Finau and Sititi could be given Ioane and Sotutu aren't even in the squad. This series will be interesting!

A mate who's also a tragic went back to look at Blackadder. His view was he was great putting the shoulder in people.
Not good if your injuries have been shoulder related

Sam Cane with the team at the official launch today. Interesting.
Edit: Josh Lord as well.
Both not considered due to injury so neither out of the picture

Just adding in that they are in and around the team environment. A sign for TRC perhaps. Thought it was worth throwing in here.

Will Jordan there also.

Looks like the season launch was at the Canes training base in Upper Hutt.

that Ireland game:
- Ethan Blackadder – 6
A big day at the office in defence with 20 tackles and plenty of starch in the trenches. Was penalised on a late hit hit on Sexton, it was obvious the blacks were trying to put the fly-half off his game. No work with the ball in hand and really needed to be given more of a chance to get some go forward. Off at 61.

@Billy-Tell Sticks and stones, pal, sticks and stones.
Sorry sparky but it’s just utterly silly to suggest skin colour was a selection criteria for Robertson. I’ve read a lot of ridiculous stuff in this forum, some of which I posted myself, but this is up there with the most ridiculous. Cmon man, trying to explain away selections by racism…

That sounds about right. Busy, but inaccurate and not all that effective against the bigger packs. Offers zero with ball in hand which is a bit of a problem in the modern game. I'm just really battling to see how he can get selected every chance without any sort of body of work at even Super level let alone test? Is there someone in the know that can actually speak to why he is so favoured that they'd upset the balance of loosies selected just to make room for him?

Sotutu would be stupid to not look closely at the England option. And surely, he has a break clause built into his NZR contract
Sotutu’s father, former Blues wing Waisake, was a Fiji vice-captain at the 1999 World Cup and his mother was born in England. The Times of London newspaper has already published a story suggesting Hoskins could represent that nation as early as next year via that link.
