All Blacks 2024

@Kiwiwomble his may be non-playing, the text quoted mentioned both.
Anywho, storm in a teacup IMO.
Let's see what the 1st squad naming brings.

His new contract includes a sabbatical clause, whether it be of the non-playing variety or a playing stint elsewhere, such as Japan.
Barrett said he could utilise the clause in his contract next year or in 2026. However, given injuries sidelined him for most of Super Rugby, and the Crusaders are coming off a rotten season, a break of any sort is hardly on his mind.
Still hindered by a bulging disc in his back, had the Crusaders made the quarterfinals he would have been a 50/50 shot at playing this week.
Now, he faces the prospect of potentially playing club rugby before the All Blacks kickoff their two-test series against England in Dunedin on July 6.
Bulging disc in back sounds like surgery required.

@Kiwiwomble I'm ok with a player having a sabbatical. Be retarded to select that player as captain though.

So you're saying the captaincy is his sister's vagina and Papalii is his brother?

“You’ll never have this”? Oh, how we laughed…

All Papalii has to do is break free from his cage and really smash that…..
….captaincy

why would we think having two strong options for a position means we have to move people around, get them working together and pushing each other, give razor options, we might even have the depth to chose horses for courses...game plans specific to our Opposition
Just move one to fullback. The reverse of what hasn't worked before is sure to be a winning strategy.

Jordie Barrett at fullback? Like that would ever happen.

@Tim Confirms Akira is working hard. With the added bonus of more power.
Do you mean more power than others or playing more powerfully than before> as he played with some power before!
More power than others.

It would be a disaster if he appointed Scott Barrett as captain. Apart from the fact it would make Robertson look like he's unable to look outside his Crusader mates - its already bad enough with Richie and Sam. Scott would almost be the final straw for me.
But he has a much better candidate who seems to tick all the boxes.

Proctor is a rookie. Very promising but a rookie nonetheless.
There are 15 test matches this year.
It doesn’t make sense that proctor plays all of those and he will get his chances if picked.
If required Reiko could move to the wing if they bring procter on.
The ABs have been at their best when we have got depth. Having 2 players that can play centre is a great thing for us. Procter has a lot to prove to become an international class centre

I'm sure I saw that Hansen will be in that mix. He feels like Razor's Smith to me so I imagine he gets a voice
They broke it up as follows as far as responsibility for selections are made, this according to an interview with Razor before SR.
Ryan tight 5
Razor LF's
Hansen HBs and First fives
Holland MF
McDonald outside backsOverseen by Razor with Wayne Smiths in put.
Genius. Just set up 2-3 sub-committees to co-ordinate selection and we'll be sweet.

Or they are bringing in specialisation to the selection process enabling closer scrutiny to pick their best players that fit into the wider gameplan.
It’s a different approach which may work better.
Having said that, I’m not sure how hard it is to pick a squad of 32 out of 170 odd players.
Most posters on here would be able to get 90% of the squad correct anyway.
