Love might make the AB squad but there is no way he makes the 23 unless the coaches believe he is also a viable option at 10. That's why BB seems more likely to be the fullback. Whether Beauden is really a test 1st 5 anymore is another argument.
He's currently playing well enough to be starting Fullback.

Some good form options at wing (Telea, Reece, Clarke), but who will start at Fullback? Love, Stevenson, Barrett, or Sullivan?
On form, love. But probably Barrett
I’ve said it previously, Beauden should only be in the ABs as a first five first and then fullback only if we have a raft of injuries. He doesn’t have that top line pace to be a back three player these days. Anyone that thinks Barrett should be fullback hasn’t learnt anything from the last four seasons. He kicks the ball away far too much.
Love and Stevenson should be selected and I’d start Love on form. I can’t remember the last time Ruben dropped a high ball and his work-rate defensively at the back has been world class.
My AB backline if we played a test tomorrow would be: 9. Perenara 10. McKenzie 11. Telea 12. Barrett 13. Proctor 14. Reece 15. Love
Reserves: 21. Ratima 22. Barrett 23. Leinert-Brown (only because he covers 12/13)

@Canes4life So you would use Love or Proctor as winger cover? You can understand why Robertson and co are looking at Havili at 10 as that may give you more options from the bench, and to include an impact winger.

@Mr-Fish No 12 who cannot hold his own physically can be effective at test level. Same thinking that gave us Aaron Mauger. No thanks.
Word to this post. The All Blacks need a big munter who can hold his own against the De Allendes, the Akis, the Esterhuizens, the Henshaws etc. Not someone who gets stopped dead on the gain line and for a ‘playmaker’ really makes fuck all plays….
Shit it’s disappointing those Umaga Jensen boys are struggling to kick on.
Lucky we have a big physical incumbent....

No Reiko Ioane in your 23 ? Good GOD man

@Canes4life Hard to go past Clarke on current form, but who do you swap him with. You could argue Telea and Reece are very similar, and they might want Clarke for the crash ball vs England.
-
I think a lack of physicality at 12 is a much bigger issue on defence than attack - but I don't think there have been any noticeable defensive flaws in Havili's game at international at level, it's mainly when he's been ineffective on the crash ball that he's copped criticism.
If Havili can hold his ground on defence at 12 then I can definitely see some upsides to his selection there if Robertson gets a bit creative (which I hope he does).
That's not to suggest that Havili is a better option at 12 than Barrett or even necessarily up to international standard, but I won't be writing him off just yet because of how he was used under Foster.

By crikey this post makes me hope like anything that Jordie Barrett stays fit

@Canes4life I'd pick Clarke and Telea as the two wings, but I like the rest of that backline.

Anyone think Daniel Rona has a chance of making all black squad?
Every time I see him play he impresses me,always makes good decisions -
@family-man maybe ABs XV but not ABs yet. Needs to be a regular starter for the Chiefs first.
-
@Canes4life good point but personally I think he should be 1st choice for chiefs .
Don’t think alb has done enough this season
