All Blacks 2024

Razor is pretty ruthless and non-sentimental based on past selections.
He's probably not going to change team personnel much - sentimentality or not - for the first few Tests. He'll want to get his feet under the table first
He's about HIS legacy, not giving the Saders players a leg-up.
You'd have hoped he'd put the team's legacy above his own.
-
This would be easier if we could agree on his underlying philosophy, i.e. given the choice what does he value? The problem is we're lead to believe that the respective assistants are choosing players.
-
@Crazy-Horse We know he sees Jordie Barrett as a 12 and Will Jordan as a 15 though.

How?
-
@Bones He played Jordie at 12 during the season he was at Canterbury NPC and NZ under 20s. When he tried to lure Jordie to the Crusaders it was as a 12. I think he's on record that he thinks 12 is Jordie's best position.
In the last couple of years, Razor selected Will Jordan mostly as a fullback. Doesn't necessary mean he won't ever pick Will Jordan on the Wing, but he will be more willing to put Jordan at fullback than Ian Foster was.
-
If Razor... followed by the dumbest statements possible pulled from the imaginations of people traumatized by Crusaders teams of the past.
-
I see 6 new All Blacks in the first squad this year: Love, Procter, Ratima, Iose, McWhannell and Numia.
And, if injuries disrupt, then Harry Plummer, Nanai-Seturo, Riccitelli, Norris or Harmon may get a shot.
Others like Poihipi, Lakai, Roe, Walker-Leawere, Tosi, Bell, Sullivan, Moorby, Hannah, Lio-Willie I see as AB XV level, and not consistently good enough yet for the man squad.
What do others think? -

I....... nope I don't think I can really respond to someone sticking their finger in the air based on what Razor did with a teenage JB or WJ at a completely different level.
I find it hard to fathom WJ being put at fullback at international level is even considered a good thing anyway.

There doesn’t really seem any evidence that he is all about HIS legacy is there?
Just a bold statement from a poster withouhht anything to back it up
-
@ARHS I agree 100% on Love, Numia, McWhannell, Iose and Proctor based on what we've seen so far this year.
After that, it gets very interesting.
Will they pick a third half back and if so who? There are a few contenders.
Walker-L has been in the form of his life, but they might well see the AB XVs as the right level for him.
I think Wallace Sititi and Peter Lakai have big futures ahead of them, but the selectors might think why the hurry?
If Codie Taylor's not right, they'll probably need to find a new Third Hooker to join Aumua and Sami T.
If they want new blood on the wing, then either of Kini Naholo or Etene Nanai-Seturo might get the nod if they play well in the business end of the season.
In short, I can see between somewhere between six and ten new All Blacks being named.

I'd imagine like all AB coaches he simply wants to do the best he can. Happy with that.

What do others think?Maybe Proctor, Ratima and Numia for the England series and perhaps Plummer, IWL or McWhannell to cover in the RC.
Hope Robertson shakes the tree for the Autumn Internationals though and gives some of the others opportunities

Heard it here first
NZ 0-2 England
England will be a tough prospect. Much, much improved team. Don't expect 0-2 though.
I do, NZ are home team, so 0-2 is exactly what I expect
England winning both Tests?
England may be on the up and Robertson new to the world of Test rugby, but unless he does something truly stupid selection-wise or turns out to be a shit coach, I can't see England winning twice.
My brain don't work, ignore I expect an NZ clean sweep
