All Blacks 2024.. locked

I'm curious.. of the AB's off to Japan, who are heading for Deans's squad? Japan is a good option for them to recover for a year or so (let's face it it's not as tough a competition as elsewhere) and maybe they can get over some of the injuries that they're struggling with. Then they can come back, all nice and fresh for the next WC. Deans has a rep as getting players up to AB standard. (remember a certain horrible Canterbury fullback who he turned into a not bad AB)

@canefan he won’t. Every move he make will be heavily scrutinised.
He's all about team culture first and foremost. There won’t be the cliche that is currently there. No leadership group who have more say than assistant coaches with selections.
Beaudy ,Brodie ,cane and Aaron smith. I wonder if that will ever come out. Or who the leak is in the team , who leaked all the team selections.Bahaha. Why are you pretending that there's no Cantab input in there? Poor Whitelock, Scooter, Mo, Cody just sitting in the corner with no input as the North Island clique runs the team.

Jordie, Rieko, Proctor, ALB, McLeod.
So midfield sorted too, nice one.
Havili's chances of selection may be better next season.
He can give fullback a shot....
He’ll struggle for game time with Will Jordan firmly ensconced there

I really hope the last few posts are not a sign of things to come on the Fern during Razor's reign.

I don't think @Nepia gets an automatic ban just because Razor is coach now.
-
@Crazy-Horse So no different to Fozzie's reign?

Is Ben Smith right - no drop goals at all under Foster?
That sounds about right. Someone should do a stat, penalties awarded in kickable range, say 40m from goal, % of those that were kicked for goal during the Fozzie reign

Finau has a higher ceiling than Frizell in my view.
If he played 45mins in RWC final I think he would've made at least two tackles
did frizell only make one tackle?!
Successfully, missed one. And they'd bag Akira for making less than 10.
So I have no desire to rewatch this game and see for myself, but what did he actually do?
Shouldn't he be getting through a ton of defensive work with Cane off?
Did he hit a lot of rucks or make a ton of ball carries? -
@Gunner Looking forward to seeing the squad next year. Areas I'm most interested in is lock, 6, 10 and 15 most likely it will be Barret/Lord, Finau/Blackadder, McKenzie and the current 14. But you never know super may throw up some surprises you would hope. Maybe A.Ioane will raise his game, maybe new locks like Annandale, Mcwannell or someone else raises their game. Maybe Stevenson makes the 15 jersey his own. Lots to look forward to.

I'd go with the below:

Yes and no. I might be having selective memory but I don't recall the shit thrown at Fozzie being based around what province he was from.
-
@Crazy-Horse It happens all the time on here both ways and it won't stop anytime soon no matter who's coaching/what players get selected etc.
-
Canes could play Jordie at 1st 2nd or center with Higgins at 2nd 5. Esp in case of injury to Proctor or Cameron
Ardie for captain. Maybe
Robertson’s coaching style is far different to outgoing All Blacks coach Ian Foster, characterised by his visionary mindset, in which campaign themes and imagery play a prominent role. Unlike his predecessor, Robertson will embrace new-age coaching methods and challenge the status quo. His desire to be himself and connect with younger generations sets him apart from more conservative elements in rugby administration.
Robertson’s coaching philosophy is expected to be a blend of traditional rugby values with a sense of freedom and lack of inhibition. He aims to make the All Blacks a team that speaks to younger generations both figuratively and literally. As he steps into his role, Robertson brings with him a seasoned coaching team that includes Jason Ryan, Leon MacDonald, Jason Holland, and Scott Hansen. While Robertson has been tight-lipped about his game plan, he has acknowledged the need for a different approach in test rugby compared to Super Rugby but what will his side look like?
Jordie Barrett can play anywhere in the backline it seems - possibly to the detriment of his desire to play in the midfield, but is forming a powerful connection alongside Rieko Ioane. Barrett has a phenomenal skillset and is renowned for his long-range kicking ability and skills under the high ball. He’s quick and strong too, useful in both attack and defence.

@Winger if given enough opportunity I'm picking Higgins to make a strong push for that AB 12 jersey over the next few years. It's pretty obvious he's a classy player with a high skill set but he also has the size to be an international class 12 aswell.

He may have to leave the Canes to achieve that, it maybe hard with the game time he gets.
