Unpopular opinion:
Dane Coles is our best hooker right now. Discuss.
i was thinking during the game that was a impressive shift. if only we had that depth in all postions
I saw this on twitter. It's scary when you see all the names listed down. We have so much top class talent playing overseas.
Pointless tweet
Add to those:
Luteru Tolai, Brian Alainu’uese, Taleni Seu, So’otala Fa’aso’o, Samuel Slade, Sa Jordan Taufua, Chris Vui, Ereatara Enari, Jonathan Taumateine, Christian Leali’ifano, D’angelo Leuila, Duncan Paia’aua, Neria Fomai, Nigel Ah Wong, Danny Toala, Paula Ngauamo, Samiuela Moli, Tau Koloamatangi, Joe Apikotoa, Sam Lousi, Augustine Pulu, Manu Paea, William Havili, Otumaka Mausia, Pita Ahki, Fini Inisi, Kyren Taumoefolau, Anzelo Tuitavuki, Craig Millar, Michael Leitch, Lomano Lemeki, Hame Faiva, Toa Halafihi, Hinckley Vaovasa, Jason Tomane, Gareth Anscombe, Jordan Uelese, Will Skelton, Lalakai Foketi, Zuriel Togiatama, Te Ahiwaru Cirikidaveta, Isoa Nasilasila, and sorta Caleb Muntz.NZ have ALWAYS provided the most players at every RWC, by a factor of 3. No change
You’ve made most of those names up
I don't have that much imagination
Yeah, a quick glance and I know the majority of those names. Why only sorta Caleb Muntz? He's Maori. Oh, cos he's injured?

Yeah he was listed but sadly never made it to the cup

surely the EDG defence should just be a video of that french fella's yellow card?
Or a video of the Fijian player yesterday when Australia were attacking which the TMO said there was nothing to see there.
-
@MajorRage yep, several other examples so far that weren't even carded, WR setting themselves up here.
-
McLeod on the penalty count “Not so much a worry, but definitely a focus area for us,”
Fuck me how can conceding what 12 penalties with 75% possession against a minnow not be a worry. Or how about the fact we have had 2 red cards in last 3 games. The fact we seem to give away more penalties then just about every team. If that is not a worry you have got a few Kangaroos loose in the top paddock.
I so desperately want a coach who tells it like it is, holds players accountable and stops sugar coating everything with lessons, learnings and focus areas.

at least we’re not going on a “journey” though

true that, a journey implies direction
-
@chimoaus Absolutely agree. The total penalty count for England v Japan yesterday was 12. Six pens each.
England have also had 2 x red cards dished out, but managed to curb the penalties yesterday, so it can be done. Why is this so hard for us to implement. It's not rocket science ffs -

Clarke must be one of the slowest international wingers

@gt12 Three awful games in a row.
Our props, overall, are a long way away from being a WC group.
EDG has the skill but lacks brains and consistency, Newell and Williams aren’t ready, Ofa and Laulala are defensive liabilities.
None of them can really carry for shit.
Tamaiti's carrying is his forte.
-
i have to admit i never really think of clarke as a speedster, faster than most maybe just because he's an outside back...but i dont remember him actually beating guys with out and out speed, i assume must be more we're not paying to put him in space and or defence good and stopping him

To say de Groot lacks brains is just lazy, because he looks like a dumb bogan from Southland. That was his first career red, and I believe he only has one career yellow.

Clarke has an athletics background, which makes his balance issues even more puzzling. I wonder if he has bulked up too much as he definitely isn't that quick now?

Just had a quick look at SR videos and Clarke was still quick during SR this year. Lots of initial acceleration. That's why I raised the injury thing.. he has had issues with his calf previously
