Hey stats guys
I know Namibia didn't have a lot of ball, but even when they did I didn't see us make any impact on their ruck. Did we win many turnovers? And who? We just seem to not have an outlet to turn over ball at the moment.
ABs got two ruck turnovers but like you said Namibia didn't have much ball (only 42 rucks)
There's a 'turnovers won' stat for individuals but it doesn't specify ruck turnovers. There were 5 of those: Ofa, Ardie, Coles, Vaa'i & Mo'unga
Ofa, Ardie & Richie also get credited with a 'tackle turnover won' each which I guess is a subset of the other list
So I presume it means Coles & Vaa'i got one ruck turnover each
It is meaningless in this game because of the lack of rucks. The tackle counts of players was a about 1/3 a normal match

So, Roigard scores a brilliant 70m individual try against the Boks, is man of the Match in his 1st start. And Christie is bloody average at best.
Let's see just how stubborn Foster is.
If he picks him, it's a tacit admission, he got it wrong by persisting with Christie. Can't win can he?
Jesus, just soft-ball it in there, why don't ya?

Hmm, perhaps only something "gotten" by watchers of Archer.
They regularly use the term "you're just going to soft ball it in there?", when somebody's said something setting up an obvious joke/gag.
Like ....
"Foster ..."
"He just can't win, can he?"
....setting up some wag to come back with something like...
"Well, no, judging by the last 4 years", or some such. -

Dane Coles is our best hooker right now. Discuss.
i was thinking during the game that was a impressive shift. if only we had that depth in all postions
I saw this on twitter. It's scary when you see all the names listed down. We have so much top class talent playing overseas.

Think the CT/ST split works well but Coles has looked sharp and up for it. Good to have some competition for the slot.
As an aside, Sami T seems to have gone backwards in the last year. Was outstanding at lineout throwing but has had wobbles recently and does he look just a bit less mobile than last year?

Ah Charlie Ngatai. What a loss he was.

To be fair to Sami T he's played like 2 games of minutes since the Super Rugby final

Samisoni's throwing was noticeably more accurate than Coles in this game: Coles had his targets catching the ball at head height, rather than stretching high for them - against a better side some of them would probably be picked off. And we lack power which he has, so in this pack he is easily the best hooker, despite Foster mucking him around for 1.5 years waiting for Taylor to come right.
Coles is still a very mobile hooker, and does seem likely to be the first forward to tell the backs to stop kicking the fucking thing away though - which would arguably be more important than any actual physical contribution. -

Yeah, seems to be lacking the power he had, and his throwing is more of a lottery.
I'm serious about Coles.
