Sinkinson was disappointing again. But overall a win against a weakened crusaders
Cameron makes a big difference at 1st. I wish love had been given more game time. Lineout was not great in the first half but after whitelock went off it was fine.
Without injury Love would have pushed for ABs this year. I really rate him.

@kev the Canes have had key guys out for the whole year. We’ve almost been the opposite to the Crusaders and getting guys back at the right time. (For once)
If Cam Roigard wasn’t in the All Blacks squad, he surely played himself in there tonight. He pisses all over Christie.
I fear that players like Roigard getting in this year will really benefit the next coach and Fozzie isn't interested in doing that unless he really really has to.

Jamie booth, useless
If Roigard goes off early next week the Hurricanes are fucked.

From an ABs perspective Holland devises some lovely attack from set piece.
Top, just hope he only had half a vote on selection and no vote on when to put subs on

He'd be starting the season behind Mo'unga, Barrett, Damian McKenzie and Stephen Perofeta, and that's without considering guys who aren't first five/fullback utilities like Shaun Stevenson, Will Jordan etc.
Maybe next year Love would be in with a chance but he's not yet proven himself a great Super Rugby player, he's still quite a way away from Test selection.
-
@Mr-Fish he hasn't proven himself at Super Rugby because he hasn't played this year and hardly played last year. He just needs time on the field. Hopefully he can have an injury free run.
He was excellent in the NPC, for the Maori and for the All Black XV so we can only mark him based on the teams he's played for.

@booboo after tonight I wouldn't mind seeing Flanders in the mix for that 6 jersey. Maybe a year too early though but he was outstanding tonight, physically starting to impose himself at this level.
Stargazer just mopping up after reading that post.

Player ratings from rugbypass
I like looking at these rating when I don't watch a match
But maybe I won't bother now.
Booth got a 7. The highest rating of all the replacements. I would give him a 3 or 4. If he had been on longer we would have lost the game. He looked lost almost as if his brain wasn't quite connecting with his body. And Sinkinson got a 7. Maybe all based on one 50/22. I thought he looked very average. Maybe a 5
The standout backs for me were Naholo, Proctor, Barrett, Cameron in the 2nd half and Roigard. Get Love back at FB and move Moorby to the wing and Canes have a VG backline
The issue will be the lineouts. It's just too short. We were lucky that Whitelock went off otherwise we wouldn't have won.

It is the 2nd half and the Crusaders are under the pump and so decide to play a lot of their rugby in their own 22. Mounga kicks up and unders, they throw the ball around willy nilly, all in their 22. Nobody kicks it long or work their way upfield through their lineout which is dominating.
This is why for the ABs, I think Dmac should run the cutter, Jordan can go to wing, and someone with tactical nous and a long boot goes to fullback (Stevenson at the moment).
