@KiwiMurph definetly not his best year ,but i would’nt say hes limited
Is definetly capable of better and we have seen that in the past
Simon Hickey is what i would call limited -

Have to say BOK has officiated well tonight
Usual high standard I think.

@Stargazer I'm not convinced, he is way too loose and takes too many low percentage options.... work in progress and hope he keeps getting better
Agree, I still see Roigard as 2nd best kiwi 9 in the comp so far
-
@Winger looking back at the Landers team list from last years QF v the Blues suprisingly there was’nt too much difference in personal
One real positive has been the scrum which i recall dealt to the Blues scrum in that particular game -

Great impact from Fakatava. Maybe brought on a bit too late? He's definitely returning to form.
Did you not see his attempt (??) to tackle Weber?
-
@ARHS I didn't claim he was there yet, but there's clear progress.
If you want to talk about tackling, there's a far greater worry. Shaun Stevenson is - rightly so - talked up as a possible ABs bolter, but making only 2 tackles from 5 attempts against the Highlanders isn't good enough! (Assuming those SANZAAR stats are correct)
-
Great counter-attacking from Chiefs. Thought several players had a shoddy match despite the score. Slater and Sowakula were error prone as was Vaai who needs a rest. And what was up with Ratima when he came on? Seemed slow and indecisive.
But the backs took their opportunities and Jacobson Cane Ah Kuoi and the front row did the hard yards. The pick and go's worked a treat when tacklers kept being slow to roll away and defenders fanned out.
Weber was my mom. Narawa and Stevenson looking every inch international class again. DMac was very controlled tonite and 8 from 8 will have helped his kicking %.
Thought De Groot and Smith were a class above for Highlanders while the starting loosies were very good too.

Yeah, the 9 spot is in much better shape from a year back when it was Nugget and then a long way back to Christie & Weber.

Can’t even read through the thread, better than It could have been, make our tackles and it could have been interesting
Renton the player of the season for me, HUGE engine, even at the end he tried to charge down the kick
We have a couple of periods of really good play which was fun to watch for a change
Oh well

@Duluth and not mention a spate of injuries
Still think Angus Ta’avao was an average selection from day dotAngus is a tighthead, EDG a loosehead. They weren’t interchangeable squad members.
Ross, ST and Ta’avao were the form front row in Super last year. The selection was merited. -
I say once more...
... enjoyable game if footy.
Anyone who says otherwise is selling something.
-
@Stargazer that was a critisim of James Lowes as well ,i do wonder however if all the other tools SS brings to the table outweigh any defensive issues

Not only selling something, but using it too!! I loved the game, like you really enjoyed it, seeing all those skills etc being displayed.
