Hurricanes v Chiefs

The only NZ sides in action this weekend
Interesting game for the Canes, so far they've only played one team in the top five which they lost (v the Blues)
It's a weird draw for them. Look at the first half of the season compared to the second:
Played: Reds, Rebels, Blues, Tahs, Pasifika, Force, Highlanders
Coming up: Chiefs, Brumbies, Drua (in Suva), Pasfika, Chiefs, Blues, Crusaders

Only lost to the Blues by a few points though (without Ardie) and could have stolen it at the death.
Agree though, definitely a harder draw in the second half of the season. I feel this week's game against the Chiefs before the bye, and the Brumbies after the bye are two games we need to win if we want to remain in contention for one of those home semi-final spots.
Saturday's top of the table clash will definitly show where the Canes really stand this year. Win it, and they will be considered one of the top contenders. Lose it, and you could argue the Hurricanes probably aren't quite there yet.

@Canes4life Really looking forward to this showdown for a number of reasons. A top of the table class is one of them, also a number of these players will be in contention when Razor takes over, in many ways a lot of the players in this game will be part of the new guard.
-
This game has been moved to 2.30pm on Saturday. Downside of this is that everyone playing premier club rugby will miss the action.
-
@Canes4life well that sux! yes club players will miss out and also means young ones miss out on connecting and supporting their local clubs, nevertheless looking forward to this game, it will be a true test

Maybe the young ones you mention above might prefer or elect to support their local club and give the Hurricanes a miss on Saturday instead.

I will say I pissed off, I always support club rugby, so as a Canes man will have to catch game later.
Probably what piises me most is the incompetence of Caketin management (or contractors) as if anyone doing work in Wellington doesn't make allowances for weather at this time of year, they need a kick in goolies. -

In better news the weather forecast looks pretty good. Add daytime and it should make for an entertaining watch.
Looking forward to it and will attempt to make it into the game. Chiefs definitely favourites in my view, they seem to have the all round squad this year. If our boys can get the job done though it will be a huge boost heading into the back end of the season.

Chiefs by 7+
I’m not sold on the Canes because the weakness of their draw. What they do have is momentum, confidence and they’re winning.

So just like the Blues then, apart from those three tiny factors in the last sentence. Sigh.

So Devan Flanders is playing & injured. What a talented man.
Is Cory Jane the reason Julian Savea keeps getting selected? Surely Kini Naholo is the man for that 14 jersey.

Thought Chiefs expected guys back from injury. No luck there for Moli Nankivell Lord Wrampling or ALB. Just Vaii.
Lord is playing club rugby this weekend, hoping to be available for the Drua game. I expect Wrampling will be doing the same. Nankivell had/has concussion so there will be return-to-play protocols to follow.

Why don’t we just do a run it straight challenge between Asafo and Samisoni and call it a day.
