Genuinely how long until Julian leaves/retires? Surely the Canes see the light and stop throwing money at him.
Probably a family contract written up that if Ardie starts, so does Julian. ๐
Agree though, the Bus needs to park up. He is no Super Rugby player these days, neither is Nadolo.
Nadolo was up and down. Maybe Sinkinson could be given a start. And hope Love in back soon
The HB 1ST 2nd and center combo looks good now. We just need to sort out the back three.

Brett Cameron did alright.

A step up on Morgan. I just hope he can consistently perform at a high level.

Love will come straight back in when heโs fit and I assume Moorby will shift to the right, leaving that 11 jersey for someone to grab. I would say Rayasi has the upper hand but heโs so damn inconsistent.
Delany, Bird or Sangster to come in for Blackwell, and Lakai to come in for Kirifi and the Canes will be looking decent.
I assume Jordie might take a seat next week so hopefully we get to see a Higgins & Sullivan midfield against MP. I think Sinkinson will get a shot on one of the wings aswell.

@KiwiMurph They play less than the sum of their parts. And the sum of their parts aint much.
They played more than the sum of their parts last year.

Nadolo, passes the ball to tahs. Yup, still shit
Bit unfair. Hes a mixed bag tonight agree but he did ok then
No just hold the fucking ball
He was getting bundled into touch with a few gold jerseys right there. Absolutely no issue with the offload.
When you already have your mind made up to criticise everything the guy does, it makes us doubt you when you have valid criticisms.I didn't know the fella at all, this is the first game I have seen him play. No preconceptions. He is an old school, can finish but nothing else winger. Not good enough at this level and in this millennium.

Watching the replay, how does Blackwell keep getting selected? The guy has tits for hands
Roigard has a massive boot on him. Love seeing a 9 who can boom it into touch instead of aimless box kicking
and I like the robust way he collects tries!

Get Cam in the ABs. Outstanding.
Why is he standing out so much this year, big off season or just growing over time?
A quicker game suits him. Extremely fit and athletic with it. His proximity to the ball makes him very noticeable and a constant threat to opponents.

Think if you watched Blackwell last week you would see why he gets picked, he picked off a few Blues lineouts etc (saw him pick off Sam Whitelock pre season too), I think on average he is alright, never a great player, but alright, and don't really see any of our locks scaring opposition unfortunately, reckon our weakest position by far.

@KiwiMurph for one game against the Crusaders maybe.
What were the crowd figures? looked as barren as a game in Melbourne.
Haven't seen yet, must admit I expected almost noone there with forecast of rain and real strong winds. There is always one side end at caketin that noone sits in, stadium at Hamilton same, tv cameras show empty stand but the one behind is pretty full. Not sure why.

Tight 5 has always been our weakness. Although we are scrumming well this season

I feel like they missed the usual walk up crowd because the weather was so dismal. Last week was a better reflection of what the crowds are usually like.
I was going to go in but decided against it as Iโm too lazy and ended up sitting on the couch with a beer in hand. Plus the tickets are still stupidly priced for a lot of people.

Just watched on replay. That boy Roigard , he deceptively fast and strong, a bloody hard worker. Am loving the work of the front row, cant recall seeing a Canes scrum dominate and demolish the opposition so overwhelmingly before. Lomax a tireless worker, and Aumua a wrecking ball are looking very good. Am also liking the burgeoning partnership building between halves Roigard and Cameron, who was pleasantly surprising at 10 tonight. Some deft touches. That 50-22 was gold. Add in Lakai and Love, and this Canes team are looking dangerous.

@Jailbreak7 I had a feeling after Wellington's NPC victory last year they would become the form team in this year's Super Rugby. Was that Bret Cameron who kicked a 50/22 if so that was very impressive, we are in need of quality No.10s going into the future.

Our up the guts runs are relentless. There were times where I don't even think the 10 was involved, it was Roigard passing straight to the fatties to cart it up

Proctor has been playing very well. But Sullivan is a quality replacement so no issue here. But I would have him in the reserves to cover the midfield just in case. Also Nadolo would give another start. He did much better as the match went on so play again to see what he can do
We need to rest Ardie either this week (MP away) Or next week (Force at home). It will be a bugger resting him for a home game but I would. I would also have Blackwell in the reserves. And start Roigard again. But take him off earlier if the game is won by then.
The next 2 games are almost must win games considering the tough finish the Canes have.
