Was just reading about Matt Doherty. Spurs were planning to loan him to Atletico Madrid only to realise after negotiations had been finalised that they had reached the limit of international loans (I didn't know that was a thing either but then I don't work in the transfer department of a premier league club) so they ended up having to agree a mutual contract termination effectively giving him to Atletico on a free. What utter incompetence.

Amateur hour. He should have been kept as a more valuable sub than Emerson Royal

And Djed Spence is loaned out having hardly featured for a 20m fee - after tearing it up for Forest last season. Porro will have to deliver ....

I'm pretty bored of the Chelsea bullshit.
Really sick of playing stupid money for players, only for them to not turn out. I really think desire to play for a club is everything, and clearly a lot of these guys have little interest in it.
Another 100mm gone to another player over much hype. This could well be another Lukaku load of shit. It's just an approach of throwing money at players to try and build a squad. Meanwhile, one our best players of our last few years has gone to Arsenal and it's barely a murmur.
Lame crap, which reeks of an owner having too much say.
Mudryk was basically offered 100K pounds per week for 9 years - if he flops, that is an expensive flop tied around your neck. However 100K per week is relatively minimum wage as Enzo is apparently on 315K per week - 140 million quid over the course of his contract. Craziness.

Seems like Levy bought Spence with Conte okaying it

Chelsea spent 60% of Fulham’s total transfer outlay THIS CENTURY in the January window
Quite flattering that they care so much about stopping us doing the double over them
Joking aside that’s a staggering statistic when you factor in doing a Fulham became a byword for promoted clubs overspending

Everton beat Arsenal 1-0. The great choke is on.
Watched the game and as much as Arsenal did not look great, Everton put in a performance that was better than anything they have put together this season. Probably should have been 3-0
-
Is there an EPL 2022/2023 thread…?
Anyone else reckon Klopp might end up fired at Liverpool?

Maybe not a choke but more City is the better team. Now if they slip to 3rd or 4th then that would be a choke.
Need a little more starch in the mildfield. One on those French midfielders would be optimal.

No. Zero possibility.
Klopp is to Liverpool what Henry was to NZ. A devoted fan base with almost a divine right yo be the best. He gave them that. He’s basically immortal.

Everyone gets fired
It just won't be this season

Mid table and continuing losses might change things. But not this season

Don't think so. Change of title needed

He'll walk before he gets fired. Anyone else would be a downgrade - the owners, players and fanbase all know this.

I have a feeling this might the final season for both Klopp and Pep.
Spurs were relatively comfortable in victory this morning after City again handed them a first half goal. The method of playing City is clear, keep the middle congested and give them the flanks - never allow them to pass through you. Then when you break, break with numbers. Pep is fiddling with the formation but most of the play is so ponderous, the strikers are starved of service. When they inevitably get knocked out of the UCL, I can see Pep giving up.
Not sure Klopp will have the appetite to rebuild Liverpool. The old chaos style of play is now looking stale for these players and good teams can tear their defence apart. Again I think Klopp might call if a day at the end of the season.
With Everton, there were only ever 2 outcomes to that game v Arse - lose heavily or win by a single goal scored by an ex-Burnley player.
