All Blacks 2023

@kiwiinmelb yeah I certainly cant see any reason why he'd need to be at any training (even the open ones)
That said, these guys are professional and should be able to deal with distractions, of which I expect there are many anyway.
I think for the most part, storm in a tea cup.

Am I crazy or was he shown on screen at game 1? Or maybe it was the SA warm up.
I think it's sensible him not to be there tbh, and I'm sure he agrees. Bit awkward if he's on the big screen then it cuts to Fozzy.
It was when the Pumas were playing. He was chatting with the Argie fans sitting next to him and behind him.
-
Let's face it , it's either Marshall being a bullshitter or a reporter making things up. How is he barred from games? He would rightly not be invited to trainings as there no point, but we are all basically barred from trainings. To even pretend he's not allowed at games is rubbsih, he would have to somehow be barred from walking around the streets of Lyon etc, as the players go sightseeing etc. FFS took about a beat up!
-
he shouldn't be at fucking trainings. That would be an enormous mistake. And if i was Ian Foster i would be fucking furious if he turned up.

That sounds fucking odd. What player at a RWC trying to make the game day 23 cares about the impressions of a bloke that doesn't have his first test for nine months?
-
Can't see how they can stop him from attending All Black games though.
"Hello France, can you block this guy called Scott? He might distract our ABs..."
"Monsieur, distract your team, you say? Hmm..." -
Not being invited to attend trainings etc makes perfect sense. Anyone whining about that is an idiot.
If he's been told not attend AB games as a spectator then NZR are the idiots.
TBH, maybe he should attend AB trainings, he might get more out of Mo'unga than the current lot can. I look forward to next year when he coaches Mo'unga, oh wait ...
-
I'm almost certain it was confirmed when Razor was appointed that Razor would be attending the RWC but steering clear of ABs.
Reminds me of when Marshy was commentating the ABs and was flabbergasted that Naholo came on at 13 despite the AB press conference that week confirming Naholo was covering 13....
This sounds like Marshy trying to act as if he is 'breaking news'.

I think the right word might be "asked" not to attend (open) trainings and ABs games, not "barred" from.
Not go to trainings? Sure. Not attend the games as a private citizen? That demonstrates a weak spirit if Fozz or the ABs asked that of him
-
Perhaps controversial, but not sure it is that big a deal. Unwanted distraction... Imagine if the camera panned to Razor during that first game, and then a bunch of needless media headlines came out of it, with Fozzy looking glum in the box.
There are many issues with the current All Blacks set-up, but something that doesn't seem to be an issue it morale. Looks a tight-knit group, and I think the players do genuinely like Foster. No need for distractions.
At the time it was bemoaned appointing the ABs coach so early, but isn't it funny how quiet things have gone on that front? It is decided, no distraction there.

the word "if" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in this sentence

This is all true. He’s been back in chch for over a week now. He went over to attend a couple of functions and observe a couple of other teams. Not allowed to attend abs games. I get the training situation. It all seems a little petty from foster.

I couldn't confirm or deny that the interaction happened, hence the "if". It would appear that Chch fanatic has done that for me. Weak as piss from NZR and Foster

If he told to keep distance from trainings it would be more than reasonable, if he's been told to keep cleard of games (which I doubt) it would be NZR .

Knowing ChCh fanatics source I don’t doubt anything he says.
Mate, I not suggesting he BSing or anything, but I doubt whether Foster stopped him going to games regardless.
I would suggest that as part of new contract he was told to give them space, and Razor actually said when getting job he would be steering well clear of being involved with players once Super had finished. As he should too.
