Didnt they say Emoni had been training well the week prior to reaggravating the injury and being ruled out?

OK - maybe this belongs in the Forster's Firsts thread, but...
Half-baked theory #223
Fozzie actually did something pretty smart.
He picked Emoni Narawa knowing full well that he was never going to be fit to play at the RWC.
Consequently, Emoni became a bit like a blank tile in Scrabble. He could be traded at a moment's notice for any player in NZ that Foster might need.
In the meantime the likes of Blackadder and Moody got some NPC gametime and Fozzie got to see how the field unfolded.
As it happens, they've used him for Ethan Blackadder, but with de Groot's red card, maybe they should have used him for Moody.
Anyway, it's quite a smart plan (which provides a logical explanation for the seeming idiocy of five wings) and even if it wasn't a plan it's one we should bank for future reference.
instant ban

I've seen a few articles on Roigard replacing Smith
Foster would never do this so maybe the better player isn't in contention. No matter how good

Anyone genuinely suggesting that Roigard should supplant Smith and start any game at this RWC against opposition not called Uruguay should be booted off the Fern forever

@voodoo 100%. But he definitely needs to be in our top 23 going forward.
Roigard will be number 1 next year, no point rushing the kid.
absolutely, he adds so much more than Christie right now, even allowing for some errors that could come with nerves in big games

The big question though will be, will Foster put him above Christie not Smith..that is not certain at all

I suggested that when Blackadder was named, said then that coaches were waiting for Blackadder. So not so smart if I thought of it.

More than a wee bit sad when the discussion of the day in the middle of a RWC is the weight of Todd Blackadder's spawn.

It is only because we got bored of debating how many donuts Fozzie had for breakfast.

That's hardly a debate. All of them. End of.

Depends if he got down for breakfast before Ryan.

In one emerging trend McLeod revealed referees at the World Cup are rewarding defending teams at the breakdown 60 per cent of the time.
“That’s a big shift for them,” the All Blacks defence coach noted. “If you’re winning the race to the ball and getting your hands on they’re rewarding the defence a little bit more.”
