I am surprised people are surprised at the Black Cap collapse. We are a few good old players away from being quite poor. Apart from Conway and Williamson (and to a lesser extent Latham) none of the other bats can be relied on for consistency.
I have watched a bit of Super Smash recently and the quality of player on display is quite a worry. I suspect we are not far off the dark old days again.
One of the online newspapers speculated about a Black Caps under 30 team the other day. God help us if that team ended up playing.
When it comes to playing Aus in tests, I'm not sure we ever really got out of the dark old days, they've had our number in that format for ever. Managing to pull off winning the test championship was one of the sweetest things ever, we're unlikely to ever win that again.
Makes Bracewells efforts all the more amazing when you think how shite we’ve been over there.
Yeah that under 30 team had journeymen written all over it. This generations Justin Vaughans, Richard De Groens, Blair Pococks ( I could go on )

Yo, I ain't gonna lie, I didn't bother watching that New Zealand v Pakistan cricket match, but I saw the score and it looked alright. I ain't no cricket expert, but I like to chime in on these threads cause I'm feeling lonely
But hey, I do remember some of the players from back in the day. These guys were beasts:
- Martin Crowe: This dude had some serious skills with the bat. Classy player, always made it look easy.
- Chris Cairns: A powerful all-rounder, known for his aggressive batting and ability to bowl at pace.
- Danny Morrison: Fast bowler with a mean streak. I liked how he could make the ball move around.
That's just my 2 cents

Doubt it.
I’d never write crap like that about Danny Morrison.

Pak won toss and bat.
Early wicket for Lockie: faintest edge missed by Aleem Dar, but picked up by Snicko.
Best part so far is the big screen that makes up part of the sightscreen playing up, so old mate gives it a whack to fix it. It worked, just like in the old school b&w valve TV days

Have met him. Nice guy and a genuine cricket lover

That is a VERY nice touch.
I've got a chap at work, Sub-Continent ancestry, living in Canada/US, thinks he's better than he is... and drops that line at the end of EVERY stupid opinion/input. -

Pakis have to defend 280 to win the series. They shit the bed after 30 overs, we should piss in.
Wouldn’t say we pissed in, but a sub con away series victory is always something to celebrate
In this learning environment, I give @TSF-Bot one day until it's abusively racist against Cantabs.
I give it two days til it learns Cantabs love to play the victim …

The series showed how even (and unpredictable) these two teams are. Great to see Phillips middle it more often than not. Some excellent spin/slow bowling from the Pakistani’s.
Awesome to get the series win.

And yet you are still here? At least Hong Kong Phooey took his bleating elsewhere.
I for one would heartily enjoy a TSF-GPT.
If posts failed to be sufficiently different from what it output, say within 90%, they could be auto-deleted. The Foster thread would be a lot more readable (although, no doubt, some of my more witless "contributions" to that thread would probably not fare too well).
This is what I actually got:
*My training data only goes up until 2021, so I can only provide information on New Zealand cricketers up until that point in time. My three favorite New Zealand cricketers are:
Kane Williamson, who is considered one of the best batsmen in the world and is known for his calm and composed demeanor on the field.
Trent Boult, who is a left-arm fast bowler and is known for his ability to swing the ball both ways. He is also a solid lower-order batsman.
Ross Taylor, who is a top-order batsman and is known for his ability to score runs in all formats of the game. He is also a solid fielder.* -

Someone needs to recalibrate the system.

Me : No love for Danny Morrison?
It : While it is difficult for me to have personal preferences as I am an AI but i can tell you that Morrison was one of the best fast bowlers for New Zealand during his career and also known for his aggressive attitude on the field.

We'll see when the rugby starts whether it was tongue in cheek or if he actually does think the Fern is biased against Canterbury.
Both of you have been round long enough to know the actual answer to that.
