Honestly,I'll be missing Ian Smith. I know some don't like his commentary style but his level of passion when commenting the Black Caps is next level!

RE: Domestic Cricket 2021/22
Micheal Bracewell just played one of the most amazing innings I have ever seen.
Firebirds were chasing 227 and were 43 for 5 at one stage and somehow he pulled off a miraculous innings of 141 off 65 balls. Apparently the highest T20 score ever in NZ.

Have to say, despite the comms waxing lyrical about him, Dhoni fucked that chase.
Yeah, they keep putting up that stat about how many games India wins when chasing and Dhoni is not out. But all the ones they lose would have been like tonight were he leaves it too late and then ends up getting out.

RE: Cricket: NZ vs Aus
He should be done in tests as it is. Unless he can bat in the top six he is not a good enough bowler to be in the test team.

So the biggest city in NZ with by far and away the largest Indian population doesn't get a ODI. Do these guys not like making money?
NZC had a falling out with Eden Park I believe. Lots of issues, including people that live in the area being absolute fucking killjoys and making it difficult to have events that go past a certain time. But also that it's not a cricket ground. I'm sure other posters can elaborate further but the situation is an absolute farce.
Actually it comes done to the fact the Eden Park games need to finish by 10PM but Star Sports want the games to start at 3PM. I guess NZC must make more from the broadcasting rights than they do from ticket sales:

RE: Black Clash T20 match
and Vettori still knows how to bowl, he should bowl every over he can from here.

RE: RWC: Wales v Fiji (Pool D)
Volavola should have just waited for him to land, would have been an easy tackle.

RE: Black Caps v India
@Mokey I think both are a liability. Neesh has to be the number one all rounder now (as long as he is fit).
Now we need to find a new opener or move Latham back to opening and find another keeper who can average 30 batting at 7.

RE: Waratahs vs Hurricanes
Surprised Aumua is still on the field with a swinging arm like that, especially considering he is just coming back from suspension.

For me that is a genuine chance of an intercept, should just be knock on to me.
I reckon from the side on view the pass also looks forward.

It seems that NRL does the phone algorithms best but it only happens by being proactive with news updates from Tuesday on. Funny enough I ignore almost all social media except a few Facebook groups and do my work and research on a desktop with ad and cookie blocks. The Ferners I admire do an awesome job trawling and sharing from social media.
Your phone algorithm has nothing to do with the NRL and everything to do with Google. Google is tracking you and because you have shown interest in the NRL the algorithm will continue to deliver you NRL stories.

@mn5 I watched Rippon bowling for Otago earlier this season and he is really handy. A left arm wrist-spinner - not many of those around.
Could even potentially have been a useful option for NZ, but I guess he'd now have some sort of stand down period.
No stand down.
Playing for an associate doesnt affect qualification for full member countries. As if we as a cricketing nation would ever stoop to poaching players of any sort of dutch origin.
He was actually born in SA so would probably fit right in.

Aiden Morgan has been very impressive early on. Full of running.
Yeah, hes playing fantastically. Looks like he could be better than Love, next long term 10 for the Canes?

the boredom in Pakistan continues. Australia laboured to 391.
Pakistan have basically crawled to 90/1
Destined for a draw.
Three draws in a row is not good for getting to the WTC final. I think Aus have to play India away, as well, which will be damn hard.
COuld be some tasty matchups coming towrads the end of the cycle. Barring a miracle, we're screwed with our losses to the Bangles and then SA
I would think 3 away draws would be quite good for Australia. Especially if at expense of one of the other major contenders Pakistan missing out on home wins.
This is said with no particular research done on the maths.
But form memory, based on the draw India, Australia, Pakistan were the teams most likely to get to the final.
Yeah Pakistan are probably screwing themselves by offering up roads. Should have been aiming to win all three with home field advantage.

@nzbloke he did well somewhere recently for us? But I agree, I'm not a fan
Reckon he'll be a good player in the future, but isn't up to it at this stage.
I was talking about Henry. Yes to Ravindra, deserves nurturing. That innings in India took some guts
Yeah, Henry bowled well in England last year, was man of the match in the game he played.
Looks like a weak batting lineup with Mitchell at 5 and I totally don't understand why Ravindra bats at seven when he plays, at least let him bat before Blundell.

@chris-b Tickner seems to have a bit of fire in his belly, which I like. From memory he got a bit of tap in the T20s he’s played for the BCs, who knows, he might ne more suited to the longer game? 🤷🏽♂️
What happened to the fast bowler from Otago, who ripped up on his T20 debut. Is he a test prospect?
Jacob Duffy? I think he has played FC for NZA but his FC stats don't look too flash:

Bad news for the Black Caps:
https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/cricket/black-caps/300508981/black-caps-captain-kane-williamson-set-to-miss-test-series-against-south-africaI really don't like the idea of Mitchell batting 5, think I would prefer Phillips in that spot.
NZC should definitely consider sending an SOS to Taylor, he won't be in MIQ anymore so no reason he wouldn't be available.
