BB's stupid drop goal did not help but it was the defence out wide that let us down.
Huh? If he missed the kick we likely would have gone for the penalty anyway.
It was a dumb play and he's done it many times before. It's a free play when on advantage, go for maximum points.
We were up by 16 at that stage, taking the dropkick meant England still had to score 3 tries to win it. Surely the better option was to take it outside the 3 try margin by scoring a try. Even if nothing eventuated from it we would have then gone back to the penalty and more importantly killed off a couple of minutes.
Surely not. Take the 3 points. Then you are just seeking 3 more points to make the game safe.
It's a free play though. What do you have to lose by attempting to score a try? If you don't score you still get the penalty and then can go for the 3, and you would have killed a few minutes in doing so.
Whitelock may have even decided to go to the corner, BB took that option away from him by going for the drop kick. Poor game management imo.

I agree in hindsight. But it did add scoreboard pressure. We had plenty of points in the bank, we did plenty of stuff wrong after that to let them back in

who?
Smith for so meekly accepting a draw.

Why for the love of god would you attempt a dinky little kick in behind the English defence, just outside our 22, when we've only got three fucking defenders covering more than half the pitch?
Apparently Ardie called TJ to kick it there , and then stuffed up the chase , got himself in front and had to back off

Well a good game. That was overshadowed by a draw and a GOD AWFUL FUCKUNG fluffybunny of a ref

Very disappointing (more on that later) but I'd just say that the performance last night shows that we most certainly do have the cattle. What is lacking is the leadership, structure and right selections (what was even the point of having Havili there). As frustrating as that is at least we can say that there have been some vast improvements.
Oh yeah, JB at 12 π
Are you saying jordie is shit or good at 12?

Long story short: I've been vocally campaigning for him being at 12 for about 5 years. The π is me woefully failing to be humble about it towards the doubters, of which there were many.

2024?
-
Forwards were fantastic.
Overall happy with 2022
I'd prefer if 10 and 15 stopped looking for the miracle plays at times and stick to basics. High risk cross kicks not good.
Pick and goes, short ball to the wingers, JB on the cut
We have enough firepower up front to be competitive.
SB silenced the 6 doubters

I'll be quite perturbed if they go back to Cane.

CC good game.
Telea making a strong case for regular starting -

We lost control of the game when the bench came on they were shit.
Saying we looked tired Fucking hell we had pretty much 8 fresh players on for the last 10.We need to look at different bench players to close out the games.
Havili and Frizzel are not the right players to have on the bench.
I'll gently suggest to just watch Frizell's 15 minutes at the end again.
You might not be as surprised when he gets picked next time.

Telea making a strong case for regular startingI'm not uncomfortable with Telea, but don't think he's significantly better than our other options. Particularly Reece.

Sevu was pretty quiet in his outings on this tour.
Will Jordan is locked in unless we need him to shift to 15.

@Chris-B agree re Jordan being l Iocked in.
Reece not really got a run?
