And I missed whiny Smith getting told off by the ref, so good.
Loved that both Smith and White got told to shut it. Cripes they go on!
Loved de Groot giving White the crying face too. If he doesn't like it he knows where to find him š

Yeah didn't get either at the game, loved it on TV watch!

- Throw miles over Ozzie side, whitelock really had to reach, so move to Ardie was not ideal. Should've been turn over to Oz, but ref let it go? ABs should've mauled anyway, one man up, but poor throw meant move was wasted
It was Retallick that took that one clean and if we wanted to maul he couldāve come down and set it. We didnāt set up for the maul though and Ardie took the pass uncontested from Retallick, and probably as planned. What happened after that was where it fell over.
He didnāt have a great throwing night but you canāt blame him for that one.

I think Wilson will be looking for someone else to run full steam at in future too.

Read what I said, correct decision would have been to maul. But they didn't, the timing was totally thrown out by the fact is was so far on Ozzie side. Maybe the move would've worked if the throw had been even close to straight? But either way it was a shit throw that should've been called not straight by the ref. Taylors fault, even if the ref didn't cal the not straight and the lineout call was srong IMO.

I love Wilson's physicality and don't mind once in a while he winds up and just runs into people. But in general play Holloway's run was superb and much more effective, maybe exposed a technique issue with DeGroot.
On DeGroot, love his physicality and abrasive nature but he looked like he ran out of puff barely 45-50mins into the game? I know frontrowers are only expected to go 50mins max these days but boy if there are injuries and he has to stay on the 80mins he'll be in troubble.

Holloway took the outside line on EDG into space. Wilson had Ardie covering that space. Not like EDG pulled off that hit by himself.

@NTA Wilson does have a tendancy to run straight lines though, as opposed to angles / footwork etc.
From earlier this year.
āMy footwork that he (Rennie) wants me to work on is not just an overnight fix,ā Wilson said. āIāve made improvement, which heās noted, but heās also wants to see more growth."

True, but in that case he was against a set defensive line so had to rely on winding up.
Holloway got a bit of a break there as Whitelock stayed out on his man, and EDG wasn't quick enough laterally.

These two videos are both still up. Maybe removing the sound helped?

Apologies if posted previously.
Some very interesting analysis:
Note also some observations about unseen elements of Clarke's and Sotutu's play.
How good was that catch and step in one motion from Jordan.
