Springboks v All Blacks I

DMac probably would have been a speed bump against those Saffas but what he showed in the Waikato game was something that neither BB or RM do and that is to play after assessing what the opposition are doing. As he has become more mature he is putting his outsides into good positions and holes which gets momentum. It was chalk and cheese to the BB way of playing off the cuff resulting in too many back door plays and not enough gain line manipulation.
He’d be useful as a second play maker coming in from fullback right now. For whatever reason JB has not been able to do that this year.
Shame we didn’t have a Test against one of the islands to give Perofeta a comfortable debut. In the current squad he’s probably be the best option as a second play maker and take some responsibility off of the 10

Anyone but Ioane, and forgot about Samisoni. Would keep him there.

@Canes4life I like the cut of Sotutu's jib. As long as he can muscle up on D, I like him.

Also noticed AB loosies playing as individuals. Savea takes it up and other forwards just watch and there is nobody attached to his shoulder for support. Result; lack of go forward or risk of a turnover. Compare that to the Boks who take the ball up with forwards on their shoulders. It is something the Crusaders (Cullen/Blackadder) and the Chiefs do well (The Chief's win in Chch this year comes to mind when the Crusaders couldn't get near the ball for numerous phases).

You almost think they'd do better if they said "Fuck it, let's just go out there and have some fun - we might not win, but at least we'd be enjoying ourselves a bit"
B.Barrett in particular - whenever he has a blinder, it looks like he's just having a bit of a laugh with his mates and a rugby ball.
I don't know in which direction the Cause-Effect relationship is... but I've thought for a while that yeah... "give some basic strategy, but don't overfill their stupid little rugby-player heads - then pat them on the arse and let them go out on the field and have some fun" might be a decent coaching approach for some (not necessarily all) players. -
I hate to say it because I like his abilities but Rieko at 13 doesn't help our structure. He still comes across as having his number 13 training wheels on. He got hooked last night and maybe we will see him on the wing next game with Jordan at 15. Goodhue at 13 may just give us some solidity to work around.

De Groot was busy, but his carrying wasn't effective.
Why is it that everyone that comes into the ABs forgets to pump their legs on contact? Akira, Frizell, Vai'i, all the props, all the hookers except one turn out their best Owen Franks impressions in black.
