Foster, Robertson etc

@Paekakboyz maybe Fozzie ignored his calls all day?
-
What the flying fuck is rolling around in Robinson's head? This press conference is entirely unnecessary and should've waited until they got home. Right now a potato would be a more attractive proposition as CEO.
-
@taniwharugby so over all this fucking around and grasping at straws to get a bit more time. He could have said (last week) that the coach is a board appointment/decision and they are collecting info etc to support a decision in the future. If we'd lost last night it's almost certain Foster was gone, so now they want to follow a process?
-
what a cluster fuck utter shambles. has not helped anything with speculation. your in south africa would have been incompetence to sack foster there so you either backed him or say nothing. been takein PR from labour a announcement of a announcement. this does not help the players going forward if they dont know who is coaching them one week to the next

Didn’t see it but sounds like it was straight out of Jacindas handbook. Having a press conference to say there is nothing to say?

Just for a little perspective.
Foster coached the Chiefs with the following results.
In the 2004 Super 12 season, 7 wins from 11 games with 274 points for and 251 against. Placed 4th on the table. The Chiefs lost their semifinal 17-32 to the Brumbies, the eventual champions, at Canberra Stadium.
2005, 5 wins and a draw from 11 games with 272 points for and 250 against. Placed 6th.
2006, 7 wins and a draw from 13 games with 325 points for and 298 against. Placed 7th.
2007, 7 wins and a draw from 13 games with 373 points for and 321 against. Placed 7th.
2008, 7 wins from 13 games with 348 points for and 349 against. Placed 7th.
2009, 9 wins from 13 games with 338 points for and 236 against. Placed 2nd. The Chiefs beat the Hurricanes 14-10 in a home semi-final and then lost 17-61 to the Bulls in the final at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Pretoria.
2010, 4 wins and a draw from 13 games with 340 points for and 418 against. Placed 10th.
2011, 6 wins and a draw from 18 games with 332 points for and 348 against. Placed 5th in the New Zealand conference and 10th overall.Scott Robertson has won the Super rugby title six times and the NPC title three times.
Prediction:
After "intensive review" and "extensive consultation with all stakeholders" they decide to keep Foster. Foster will say all the right things at all the right times to all the right people. Because one thing he is good at, is keeping his job despite absolute mediocrity. -

Have added a few more of the live updates to my post. A lot being said, but nothing concrete. Probably adding fuel to all the 'inside knowledge' Tweets doing the rounds about Scott Robertson being on standby.
Right on cue:
“We could have handled things differently across the board following the Irish result. We want to be open and transparent, that's why we're here today,” says Robinson, referring to the cancelled press conference after the third test defeat.

Why make an announcement. Crazy. What a mess
Bring in the Crusaders forward coach, get an improvement. Frustration -
They have 3 options
- fire foster
- confirm foster for RC then another review
- keep foster
I find it hard to get excited about yesterday as I can’t convince myself the corner is turned. More think it’s a false dawn.

“He has been under a lot of pressure, and I know Foz (Foster) doesn’t want to make it about himself, but I just want everyone to know that all the players have got his back. He’s a great coach, he’s got great coaches beside him, and we back him 100 percent. I hope everyone that reads this backs us because we are going to get it.”
Asked if Foster deserved to stay in charge, Savea’s response: “Like I said, he’s my coach. That’s it.”What are they going to get?

@taniwharugby ask your son bro! that's young'un speak for going hard and getting the W!
I agree with @Billy-Tell this was a hurting team having a big game. A REALLY big game it has to be said, but I totally get they were playing for Fozzie, themselves, and us of course. The risks are too high to think this is the turning of a corner. The comment about no decisions till they are home and around support networks is telling imo.
